Mias POV:
We arrived in Italy on the morning of qualifying. Charles had been involved in a huge fight with his management over the phone, resulting in 3 men being fired and 2 of them being reminded where the door was.

We had parted ways pretty quickly when we arrived at the hotel, as he had to leave for the track, for a meeting, and I had wanted to see everyone before they went to race. Charles had taken our bags to our room and hurried out, in a grump about how they didn't respect his personal life and his fiancé.

Fiance. I was nervous to tell my brother and Lando. they had been okay with the fact it was fake, and I remember my brother complaining about the size of the last ring. He would not be able to do that this time. There was no room to argue with the beautiful diamond on my finger.

a knock on the door reminded me of where I was, and that I had not seen my brother yet, and seeing him burst in without even waiting a second told me I had to tell him now. He pulled me close to him, only letting go when he felt my body tense a little with the pain.

'Tell me everything, right now.' Danny said after a moment, stepping back to look me over like I was his patient.

'I saw the photos, was about to get on a flight to Australia and Arthur called me, telling me to meet him in Monaco and look at the house. I said yes because I wanted to be around Charles one last time if what I had seen was true, and that house was the closest I'd get.' I explained.

'And when you got there?' he asked.

'I took one look at that nursery and realised it wasn't him. Charles loved me too much.' I smiled.

I could see genuine happiness for me in my brother's eyes, as he hugged me again.

'I'm gonna take the season out next year, look after you, spend more time with you.' he said, softly.

'No, you're not.' I responded sharply.

'Mia, you know I've lost my seat. I'm not gonna fight for a new one. if this is it then I've been so lucky, if not, I need time to recharge and I'll happily spend it with my sister.' he argued.

'Daniel.'

'Not up for discussion. Now, get ready, the boys wanna see you before qualifying.' he said, kissing the top of my head and turning to walk away.

'Me and Charles are engaged.' I rushed.

'I know.' he said in a duh tone.

I took a deep breath, holding out my hand so he could see the ring.

'No, really engaged.'

'oh my fucking god.' I heard him whisper, holding my hand in his and examining the ring, noticing the engraving on the inside.

'Danny.'

'When he asked for your hand I didn't think he meant he wanted to propose so soon.' he said, a grin on his face.

'Charles did what?' I asked, shocked at what my brother had just said.

'He came to me not too long ago, moments before signing on for the house. he told me he'd be buying it for you both and that he wanted permission to marry you, for real.' He explained.

'And?' I asked, impatiently, knowing my brother was so incompetent with relaying details I wished I could go back in time and watch the conversation myself.

'I had said there was nobody else I would want to marry you, and that I knew now you were both made for each other.' he squeezed my hand, leaving me in my thoughts, no doubt to get ready, as I was already late and this conversation would have never ended otherwise.
