Mias POV:
It was race day and I'd spent the previous evening so loved up with my fiancé that I had not even noticed Pierre's comment. But just from glancing at it, it was very obvious that he was aware of my game, and was playing along. I was so frustrated. After everything I had still been able to stay friends with him, but he'd kept pushing me further and further, expecting me to keep quiet just out of grace.
Not anymore.
'What's on your mind?' Charles asked, sitting opposite me in his drivers room, holding out his hand to give me a squeeze.
I looked down at my watch. 45 minutes until lights out. I had plenty of time.
'I feel like I should go and see my brother, I'm worried about him.' I lied.
He sat silent for a few seconds before getting up to give me a hug, and a soft kiss on my forehead.
'Just promise you'll be back for lights out? I get nervous when you're not here with me.' He said calmly.
'I promise. It's comforting being able to hear you over the headset.' I smiled up at him.
'Even though all I do is shout and swear.' He chuckled.
'Much better than radio silence.' I said, thinking back to that one time he had been silent in the crash, and I'd thought he was dead.
'Hey, go see Danny, and come back to me.' He said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
'I'll be back in half an hour.' I smiled, squeezing his hand and heading out into the paddock, looking around to see how many people were watching me.
I had grabbed my camera and began to walk towards Pierre's garage, just so that it looked like I was working, but put it down the second I stepped in the door.
'Hey! Are you okay?' Yuki asked, pulling me into the biggest hug with a huge grin.
It made me feel bad I wasn't actually there to visit him and so I stalled a little, pretending to hang around until I saw Pierre leave his drivers room.
'Pierre!' I called, nerves hitting me right in the stomach when I saw him turn around.
There was no walking away now.
'I feel like this should be a private conversation.' He mumbled, opening the door to his room for me.
I looked at him for a few seconds, before following him in, standing awkwardly by the door, watching as he opened the mini fridge, offering me a drink.
I shook my head, running my hand over my watch as I waited for him to sit down to begin speaking.
'I would like to apologise.' He began.
'Stop. You can't apologise for half of what you've done. What happened when we were younger were just warning signs you were hard work Pierre because who the fuck does what you've done to me?' I asked, feeling myself get angrier and angrier as I began to speak.
'I didn't get you hurt on purpose.' He argued.
'And You're still defending yourself?' I laughed.
'Look. We've got to get along around here so please, I'll do anything you want. I'll pretend you don't exist, I'll come clean about everything. But please let's make this easy.' He sighed.
'Easy for who? Because you got back with your ex, plotted against me, ruined my fucking life and then after all of that claimed you wanted me back? You need to leave.' I said, firmly.
He laughed, I could tell it was a nervous laugh. He didn't expect me to say that, neither did I.
'You want me to leave?' He laughed.
