Mias POV:
'Trust me, It's the perfect time. You've just got to keep your boyfriend under control.' Lando explained, sitting on my office sofa, throwing a tennis ball up in the air.We were now in the Netherlands, marking the 15th race of the season. It was the start of September, and so it was beginning to get a little colder, hence why I was arguing with Lando about my outfit to the ball later on that night.
'Lando. I don't feel good and it's absolutely freezing. I can't wear that.' I huffed, looking at the dress he had hanging up on my doorframe.
'See it as a revenge dress. Besides, you're engaged to the prince of Monaco now, you've got to look good.' He responded, teasing.
'Lando. We're not even engaged.'
'Why are you being so argumentative today! Gosh. I did not sign up for this.' He frowned, picking the dress up and twirling with it in his hand.
'Why. Who sent you?'
'Mr honeybadger himself.' He smiled.
I caved, getting up and taking the dress from his hands. It was beautiful. My only issue was the fact that the event was being held in some sort of ice palace, and I was not going to be dressed for it.
'You all get to wear long sleeves.' I muttered.
'You think I didn't prepare for that?' He rolled his eyes, leaning down the side of the sofa and pulling out a box, revealing a white fluffy shawl to go with my dress.
'Why didn't you say that before' I exclaimed, smiling wide at him.
'Because I didn't think you'd be such a nuisance. Now, there will be press. You ignore any comment about Pierre and focus on how strong your current relationship is, okay?' He said seriously.
'What is this?'
'Mia seriously. Do you want me to get Lewis down here?' He raised his eyebrows.
'No.' I warned.
'Too late!' Lewis exclaimed, pushing the already ajar door wide open and sitting on the edge of my desk.
'Why isn't anyone giving Charles this sort of military heads up?' I laughed.
'Max is.' Lando said, making me snap my mouth closed.
I'd much rather the kind instruction from Lando and Lewis than Max.
'Pierre did this because he is begging to find out what you really think about you and him. He wants to hear you recite it to the press in your way so he knows where he stands and how you feel. That's why you say nothing.' Lewis explained.
'How do you know that?'
'God you are argumentative today' Lando chimed in.
'Because you stopped giving him any attention. You stopped being friends and you and Charles got fake engaged. He now wants to get this attention from you again.' He responded.
'He's crazy.' I mumbled.
'Maybe. Or maybe it's time you stop going back to him despite all of the shitty things he's doing to you, even as friends.' Lewis said, raising his eyebrows at me.
'Okay. So no comment. What if they ask what do I say?' I panicked.
'You say you're not taking questions on that right now. If you have to claim you two are on good terms to avoid any conflict rumours, but if he pulls you up on it you ignore him like your life depends on it.' Lando added.
'You guys are scarily good.'
'Trust me. We've been there. Now, go and get ready,' Lewis smiled, giving my hand a squeeze.
