"People hating me doesn't faze me. People loving me...that would be concerning."
A group of criminals with supernatural powers are getting ready for the biggest heist of their lives, but for it to work they need Kimhan the Executioner.
However, it'...

Terror.
Academics define it as a state of intense fear or a violent action that causes fear.
For Chay, it was both right now.
He couldn't feel his body's reaction because it couldn't react at all, but he knew that if his body could react it would be probably trembling, shaking, fighting, he would tell Kimhan to let him go, he would tell Kimhan that they would never see each other again. And then... then Chay would run.
No, he wouldn't beg. He would never beg Kimhan for anything. But he would tell him... slowly, calmly, that it was fine, that he could let him go and they both would forget that they have ever met. He would. He would do all of that, but he couldn't. He couldn't do any of that. The only thing that he could do was watch as Kimhan's face went from insanity to calmness to anger to indifference and back to insanity.
Kimhan was still so close, laughing into Chay's face, the blood on Kimhan's face engraving itself in Chay's mind, he knew he would see it for the rest of his life.
Kimhan said that now was Chay's turn. And whatever that meant Chay knew that he was never going to be the same after Kimhan would be done with him.
Chay was tortured before.
Twice.
Once when he was only fifteen. The Heist Squad went on a heist to a mafia nest in Phuket. It was Chay's first real heist and he wasn't trained enough yet to protect himself with his powers. They put a sack on his head, so no eye contact was possible. For twelve hours they were cutting out little pieces of his skin from different parts of his body and choking him until he was almost dead before they released their grip around his neck and let him take one more breath of life.
It took twelve hours for Porsche to find him but once he did, everything there burned to the ground.
The second time he was tortured was by Kinn.
That happened four years ago when Chay was freshly eighteen. It was before Kinn joined them and way before he started dating Porsche. Seriously, Chay's brother was dating the man that tortured Chay. Chay was swallowing that pill for a long time. But after he did, he realized that they might not have had the best first meeting but now Chay knew that Kinn wasn't that bad, he was actually quite good most of the time.
That time it took Porsche only two hours to find Chay.
Chay wondered how long would it take his hia to find him now and if at all...
Being tortured twice, Chay wasn't afraid of the torture itself. It was Kimhan that was sending terror through Chay's veins. Something about Kimhan was too unsettling, too unpredictable, too deadly.
It was in the way he had enjoyed toying with his victims. Kimhan didn't care about killing, it was the foreplay that mattered to him. Chay was the exact opposite. He made his victims kill themselves the moment he didn't need them anymore. Why prolong their suffering when he could let them go in peace?
