POV Harry
It had been months I left her for a recovery. Honestly recovery wasn't felt like one. It felt like hell. It felt like hell without her. I had been missing her a lot. Yet, not any instruments could help me to keep connected to her. It was like a boarding school, rehab and jail at the same time.
Oh, if only I hadn't done such ridiculous thing. I would have been with her right now. I would have been hugging her tight and kissing her mouth. Whispering words I could arrange into sentences. Creating a smile upon her face.
Ah, I could barely wait for coming back. New term at new school would be starting anytime soon. Perhaps I could visit her for awhile. Perhaps for her seventeen birthday.
I had heard her talking about how she had never had her birthday celebrated anymore ever since she was seven. I had heard her talking about how elegant the combination of white and gold would make. I had heard her dreaming about going to Paris. I had heard her telling about people make being seventeen years old a big deal. Sweet seventeen party, ID card and being more mature.
I couldn't throw her a party. Without a preparation, that would be quite hard. But she deserved a special way to celebrate her special birthday. A birthday cake and a little surprise. It sounded quite okay. But, I felt like I had to do something more. She gave a surprise to me when I turned seventeen and it was unbelievable.
A Guess watch sounded pricey but she got me one. Then there was this scrapbook with her writings and several blank pages. She basically wrote things about meeting me and being friends with me and left blank pages for me to write things.
Seeing her speaking in front of many people, declaring our friendship. That was probably the best thing. It was beautiful. I didn't think she would want to speak that time. But she did. It was perhaps the best present I had ever received in my life.
Now I had to pay it back. I didn't know whether she would be as happy as I was when I got surprise from her. But I hoped she would. Because her happiness meant a whole world for me. I wanted to see her smiling every chance I could.
"Hey, Harry! Have some fun, move that groove, be drunk. We're here for your recovery celebration. Why are you spending your time sitting?" Grey elbowed my arm as he sat on the chair beside me.
"Who's going to drive later then? Remember that I'm the sober?"
"Esther is going to be the sober." Tom replied whilst pointing Esther with his head direction. "She said it herself. You know she's there, making out with her boyfriend. They won't be drunk, they're too busy."
"Hey, you know what? Let's do a drinking competition!" Keller suggested. "Me, Grey, Tom and you."
Grey lips formed a smile in an instant, "Sounds fun."
"Okay." Tom accepted.
"A glass."
"No way!" Grey protested at my request. I knew I was probably such a loser for asking only a glass of drink for our drinking competition. But, hey, I talked about this like times. I wasn't a big drinker, I used to be the sober. "Three."
"Five!" Keller smiled in happiness. He was really happy for offering five glasses of drink. I had no idea what he was thinking. Or perhaps, I had no idea why I felt like it wasn't exciting at all for me.
"Six. I dare you all." Tom challenged in his calmness sly.
It heated the situation that Keller decided to start the competition between us, "Oh, it's on, Tom!" he then requested the six glasses for each of us to the bartender. He left me with no choice but drinking. The other lads left me with no choice but drinking.
