Complementary 1: Begins and Ends

Harry's POV

Since the day we first met, I had known that there was something wrong with this girl. She avoided me most of the time especially at school. Even though we didn't have good start, it all just changed instantly as I tried to know her better.

The day before, Skyler seemed like she was feeling kind of insecure. She tried to be away whilst Gita was walking beside me. Simple reason, she didn't want to be the third person. She knew I liked Gita. But what she didn't know was that I liked her. She was a friend I had ever asked for.

Now, we were together with couple of friends in the cafetaria while waiting the bell to ring. Just like what had happened in the past, she tried to run away. But this time, I asked her to stay. I wanted her to be confident and comfortable enough with herself. She couldn't run forever.

"Hai!" one lad came to our table. I looked at the person immediately and realised that it was Garry. He greeted everyone including me. But his eyes gave a sharp sight to me.

"Lo nggak duduk bareng kita, Gar?"

"Nggak ah, males. Gue lagi nyari sarapan."

I understood some words, especially those words that were spoken very often. Most of the time, I understood what they said, but I wasn't able to speak in such language.

Garry, he always acted that way. It might sound like he was one of those careless lads but he actually wasn't. It was his way to tell that he had a problem. I didn't just say it. I also didn't say that I could read people's mind and attitude.

It was all because he was there when some senior lads got me the bruise on my face. Unlike the other seniors who beat me for an exact reason, because they thought I was too close to people and one of them hated me for being close to Gita. I didn't exactly know what Garry's reason was. Although, he did mention something, about a girl. I was unsure about who the girl he meant, but I assumed that he liked Gita just like the other lad.

"Jadwal pelajaran baru mulai berjalan hari ini ya." said mrs. Yuli, the curriculum teacher. Everyone in the class started to make some noise. I didn't catch what she was saying quite well because he spoke a bit too fast. Whatever that sentence meant, I knew that it wasn't a good thing.

"Hari ini seni musik woy!" Calvin screamed loudly. Again, the class made noise. Audrey didn't come that day, so I had to ask someone about the announcement. Skyler was the one I asked.

"We have music class due to the change of school subjects schedule." she replied.

"Pagi." our music teacher came into the class just after Sky spoke to me. Without speaking back to Skyler, I made her sit beside me. I didn't know whether she realised or not.

It was one of those days when mrs.Bertha gave us a practice and tips. This time, duet was the thing. She told us to take our chair mate as duet partner. It should've automatically made Skyler to be my partner. But mrs. Bertha seemed like she had a plan.

"Harry, please come forward. I want you to be my partner today. We will show them how to sing."

Skyler was no longer my partner as she asked me to be a partner. I had to sing with mrs. Bertha. Which was actually an honour. But it honestly not as interesting as it sounded anymore as I remembered that it wasn't my expectation to leave Sky in the time I tried to be with her.

So, as the break time came, I came to her immediately.

"Hey, Harry!" greeted Rara with a sweet and warm smile before I could talk to Sky. She was smiley kind of person. I liked to see such person, she showed energy inside her. She was also friendly.
