POV Harry

My life had been a mess. I wasn't going to lie about it. Life had never been the same since the girl of my life passed away in a race. It was hard to forget. Everything I did remind me back to the accident. It flashed to my mind over and over again. In other word, I was haunted.

"Baby," she called as she let herself sit next to me at the school cafetaria. Her long blond hair tangled around her shoulder. She wore an outfit which showed her curves perfectly. She looked as beautiful as always.

I quickly looked away from the other five people around the table and responded her, "Yes, babe?" I placed a kiss on one of her cheeks, smelling her vanilla sense perfume which got me weak. She let her head fall on my shoulder, then I kissed her right on her lips.

"I want to join a race tonight." she requested, taking my hand into the grip of both of her hands.

"Race? What race?" I asked whilst my free hand palmed on her cheek, gently stroking it. My eyes were busy looking at what was in front of me, the girl I loved.

"It's the motorbike race, silly." Esther rolled her eyes. Esther had a very social soul. She knew many things going on at school. Perhaps it was because she loved gossip, a lot.

Hearing motorbike race, I rushed to deny. "Motorbike race? No, not a chance, Lav." I usually considered everything what she asked for. I would do what it took to get her what she wanted. But, a motorbike race was just not a thing I would let her to do. I might have sounded so overprotective, but being known as her boyfriend by her family made me have that responsibility of taking care of her in such way.

"I have never been in such a thrilling sensation before and I want to be in one before I die. Is it too much to ask?"

"Let your girl have fun." Tom advised in his cold expression. He was careless, cold and mean, most people said. To me and some others, Tom was a smart who never looked like one. He put his effort for school stuffs but nobody really noticed because as I said, he acted like he was careless. "Life without risking things for the beloved one, what is it for?"

"No way!" I stated, trying to sound convincingly denying. I would risk anything except her safety. She couldn't even ride a motorbike. Letting her to join a motorbike would only putting her in danger. "You don't ride a motorbike!"

"I rode motorbike once." Lavender reasoned as I told her what I thought.

Then, Tom opened his mouth again for the second time. "Come on, you've joined race for several times. Your girl is only going to taste it once and you don't let her to do it? You're such a selfish." offensive and cutting words when he spoke, that was Tom. It wasn't surprising as I was used to it already.

"Once, baby. Only once. You know papa wouldn't let me to join such thing."

"That's the thing, Lavender. Your papa wouldn't let you to do it. I need to make sure you don't do what he doesn't want you to do. If he knows, he would be really mad. Beside, Lavender, I thought you hate it."

"Just once, people say it makes them feel alive. I want to see if it's true. I want to feel alive, I am tired of feeling like dying."

"What are you talking about?"

Lavender wasn't used to be eager too much about what she should have not done. She was a calm lovely girl and almost had no interests for things she called trashy like racing, smoking, drugs and drama. Every time we went to pub with our friends, we were always the sobbers. Perhaps she drank more than me sometimes, but just like me, she wouldn't want to be controlled by it.

This time, I had no idea why she wanted something she wasn't interested in so badly. Saying she felt like dying. I didn't know what had gotten into her. Honestly, I was a bit mad at her.
