Will sat at his desk, trying desperately to focus on what his teacher was saying. One more year and he would have officially graduated and become a fully fledged doctor. One more hour and he could go home for the day to his husband and daughter. They were coming to pick him up today because Maria's school had had a teacher training day, which Nico had taken off from his job as a sword instructor at Camp to look after her.

The lesson was interrupted when Will's phone rang. The class fell silent.

"Sorry, miss, I have to take this," he said. "It's my partner."

He pressed the phone to his ear and Nico's slightly frantic voice came through.

"Hey, babe. You don't happen to have Maria with you?"

"May?" Will repeated. "No, why?"

Nico chuckled anxiously. "So, when I told her you were in class, she got a little excited and that kid is fast."

Before Will could respond, the door opened and there stood a three year old looking particularly proud of herself.

"Daddy!" she exclaimed as her gaze landed on Will. She hurtled towards him and he caught her in the nick of time, setting her down on his lap as she kissed his cheek.

"Hey, honey. Where's Papà?"

Maria giggled. "Here soon. We painted in school today."

"Yeah?" Will smiled, looking over Maria's shoulder to try and convey his apologies to the teacher. She just seemed amused

"And who's this sweetheart?" she asked.

"May!" Maria twisted around and waved. "Do you teach my daddy? He's learning to fix people!"

"That's what he was learning to do before you came in," Nico's voice came from the doorway. He approached them, taking his daughter from his husband with a weary sigh but a tiny smile. "I told you we were going to the park first, principessa."

"I wanted to see Daddy."

"You can see him in a bit." Nico grimaced and glanced at the class. "I'm so sorry for the interruption. She's a piccolo mostro, aren't you, May?"

"No worries," the teacher said genuinely. "My wife and I have a little one at home. I understand."

Nico smiled gratefully and turned to face Will. "See you in an hour, amore. We were never here!"

He kissed Will's forehead, squeezed Maria, who was clinging onto his side like a koala, and left.

Will grinned to himself. He loved his family.

A/N

Hey, loves! I definitely nicked this idea from somewhere but I think the concept is really cute.

I just wanted to mention something about Solangelo kids' names. Whilst I love the idea of Nico wanting to honour his sister and name his daughter Bianca, I don't think he would. It would be a lot of pressure on the kid and I think Nico would be scared of trying to make his child into another version of his sister. Also, I don't think he'd like to be reminded of the painful events he went through everytime he saw her.

Having said that, I think Maria would be a good name. I used it here because I couldn't really think of anything but I think it would be nice. Nico didn't really know his mother so it's a nice way to honour her without the additional expectations that could be pushed onto the child.

Anyway, sorry for the long A/N and hope you enjoyed!
