"Don't go to school," Nico protested as he fiddled with the hem of Will's shirt.
Nico lay sprawled out across his boyfriend's lap, messy curls spreading a dark halo around his face. He was looking up at Will through his eyelashes, biting the loose skin on his lips.
"Don't bite your lip. You'll make it bleed," Will scolded, swatting at Nico's hand.
"That's not an answer," Nico told him.
Will sighed, leaning down to kiss Nico's forehead.
"I can't skive off school."
"Sure you can!" Nico said, bright eyed. He leaned his head back so it hung off of Will's knee carelessly.
"Why?"
Nico's head snapped up, the strange angle giving him a double chin. He glared at Will.
"To spend time with your incredible boyfriend," he explained, affronted.
"I'm doing that now," Will pointed out.
"Well, yeah," Nico said, wriggling so that he ended up sitting on Will's lap. He held Will's face in his hands, squishing the soft skin.
"You use a lot of moisturiser," Nico commented absentmindedly.
"It's good for your skin," Will said.
"The point is," Nico continued firmly as if he wasn't the one who got distracted, "yes you're spending time with me now. But in an hour, you're going to go to class and I'm going to be lonely. However, if you don't go to class, I won't be lonely. Simple."
"But Nico," Will said, taking Nico's face in his with the same seriousness, "In an hour, I'm going to class and you're going to be financially supported in the future. However, if I don't go to class, we're going to end up penniless orphans."
"First off!" Nico patted Will's face. "Your mother is alive and well. I spoke to her yesterday. She gave me a brownie recipe. Secondly, Austin can send you the notes. You don't need to be there. Instead, you can have a fun date with me at the fairground that opened in the park last week."
"Can't we do that this weekend?"
"It leaves tomorrow!" Nico complained. "Come on! I want sweet stuff and to throw things at coconuts with my lovely boyfriend who may or may not be sleeping on the couch this evening depending on his answer!"
"That's an empty threat and you know it," Will accused.
Nico met his eye and stayed silent. Will held his ground for a few seconds before he relented.
"Fine."
"Yes!" Nico fist pumped the air.
"Let me call Austin," Will said, already digging his phone out of his jeans.
"Best boyfriend ever," Nico mumbled into the kiss he placed on Will's cheek.
"Hey, Austin," Will greeted, ignoring the way his boyfriend had sunken into him like a particularly nice sofa. "I'm not feeling very well. I don't think I'll make it to class. Could you send me your notes after?"
There was a distinct unimpressed silence.
"Are you skipping school?"
"No!" Will denied as he faked a cough and poked Nico, who was laying kisses along his face and down his neck. "I think I have the flu or something."
"Sure," Austin said. "I'll send you the notes, man."
"Thank you so much." Will squeaked in surprise when Nico bit down on his neck. He quickly covered it with a pretend sneeze. "See you tomorrow."
