Ever since Leo had created monster-proof devices, he'd suddenly had a severely unfair amount of leverage over people.
He was the only one who knew how to control the WiFi.
"You will let me do this," Leo demanded, wielding his flaming sword.
"You look like Hiccup," Nico replied, proudly referencing a film that Will had made him watch earlier that week.
"Come on!" Leo whined. "I wanna slice skeleton heads off with this thing. I'd look awesome!"
"You'd look like a safety hazard!"
"Don't make me turn off your WiFi."
Nico shook his head. "I don't need WiFi. Go ahead. Do your worst."
"Fine." Leo stomped off.
Two hours into his WiFi-less existence, Nico discovered that he did need WiFi.
He was so bored.
"Come on," he lectured himself as he paced up and down his cabin. "You survived two wars and the 1940s. You can survive without the Internet."
He glared at his television. It was playing soap operas again. He distantly thought that Will would love them.
Nico sighed and stood up, marching over to Percy's cabin.
Percy stood up abruptly when Nico burst in.
"You good?" he asked.
Nico didn't bother answering. He pulled out his phone and went on to IMDb.
"America Ferrara!" He groaned.
"Excuse me?"
"It's been bugging me for the last two hours," Nico explained. "I couldn't remember who voiced Astrid in that movie Will and I watched."
"And you couldn't figure this out in your cabin?" Percy asked. "Not that I don't love seeing you!"
Nico flopped onto the bed. "Leo cut off my WiFi."
Percy paled. "Get out."
Nico frowned. "What?"
"Get out before..." Percy trailed off, staring at the window behind Nico. Nico twisted around and saw Leo's grinning face.
"No." Nico gasped. He refreshed his page and it stalled.
You are not connected to the Internet the error message informed him.
Leo winked and darted off.
Percy scowled. "Why did you have to spread your disease?"
"I'm so sorry," Nico apologised sincerely.
Percy sat down next to him.
"No matter," he said eerily calmly. "We'll use another cabin's WiFi."
He pulled out his phone and checked the networks.
"We're not using Ares'," Nico said immediately. "I couldn't guess the password for the life of me and they'd kill us."
"So we use Apollo's then," Percy concluded, tapping his phone. "Head counsellors choose the password. You're dating Will. What would he choose?"
"Why can't we just ask him?"
"Leo will see us!" Percy stated. "He'll turn off their WiFi and your relationship will be ruined."
Nico nodded. "Okay, that's fair. Will's a sap so it's probably something he loves. Try golden oreos."
Percy typed it in. "Nope. Not that."
"Mom."
"Nope."
"Vaccines."
"Vaccines?"
"He has a poster of Alexander Fleming above his bed."
Percy shrugged. "Not the password although that's weird."
"Shut up. It's cute."
Percy froze. "Wait. I know something else he loves."
Nico craned his neck over Percy's shoulder, watching his screen. "What?"
"You."
Nico sat back. "No way."
Percy slowly typed 'Nico' in.
The WiFi connected.
"Yes!" Percy fist-pumped the air.
Nico stared at the wall in shock. He inhaled sharply.
"Excuse me for a moment," he said, half-running out of the door and to the Apollo cabin.
"Nico! No!"
Nico flung open the door and spotted Will talking to Kayla.
He grabbed Will's arm and spun him around into a kiss. Will made a muffled noise of surprise. Nico pulled back.
"What was that for?" Will asked dazedly.
"I'm your WiFi password," Nico muttered breathlessly.
Will's ears turned pink. "Yeah. My siblings teased me relentlessly for that."
Nico tugged him down for another kiss, longer this time.
"I love you," he said against Will's lips.
"I love you too," Will said, his hands gripping Nico's waist and his mouth curving into a smile.
Behind him, Nico could hear Percy desperately tapping his phone and Leo's menacing cackle.
"No!" Percy exclaimed. "My WiFi!"
