Clarke P.O.V
Belamy and I decided to walk home from the cemetery. The walk was silent, but comfortable. I thought about what would have happened if Keenan had not been there. Would it have been Bellamy who was lying in the Arke City Cemetery? Would Octavia have been the sister who was now feeling utterly distraught? Would I have even had the strenght to be walking back from the cemetery right now? I almost lost Bellamy,I almost lost him, the person I cared about most in the world.
"Clarke?" Bellamy's voice asked softly. I stopped walking and looked up it him. He ran his thumb across my cheek as I realized I had been crying.
"Are you okay?" He tilted my chin up gently, so he could look into my eyes. His beautiful, brown eyes met mine, and I couldn't imagine not seeing their soulfullness everyday.
"I almost lost you." My voice cracked with emotion. Bellamy pulled me into a hug, wrapping his good arm around me.
"I almost lost you Clarke," he told me."And I do not want to loose you."
I wrapped my arms around his waist."I lost my cousin who was almost like my sister. It hurt so much, but not as much as if I would have lost you." I swallowed as tears trickled down my face."I can't lose you too."
Bellamy buried his face in my hair."You won't lose me Clarke, ever. I will always be yours." We stayed on the side walk wrapped in each other's arms for a long time before continuing to walk home.
Bellamy P.O.V
It's been a couple weeks since I had helped save Clarke and Camilo. We all have been working to catch up in school, and next week was finals week. We were close to graduating, to leaving Arke High. I had my Clarke back and I didn't want to ever let her go, but there was something that didn't let me fully enjoy being with Clarke. I had put her in danger, I had been the one who put her life on the line. I dragged her down with me, and that wasn't fair to her. I constantly found myself believing that I would always bring her down, no matter the circumstances. Clarke had a great, bright future ahead of her. I needed to do something to protect Clarke from me, but I didn't know what I could do. She could get into Harvard if she wanted to, and me?
I had to rely on a scholarship. In fact, I was still waiting for Mrs. Rose to tell us who had gotten a scholarship from the Performing Arts schools, she was supposed to receive responses from the representatives today. I walked into the theatre, where Choir class was going to take place today. I headed to where Clarke was standing, everyone was quietly speaking. I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Hi Bellamy." She greeted.
I placed a kiss on her cheek."Hey Princess."
"Awww," O and Raven said in unision.
I rolled my eyes at them, and rested my head on Clarke's shoulder."Where's Mrs. Rose?"
O answered."She's in the teachers lounge, getting some papers she left in there."
I nodded."Okay." I looked at O's hands, she was fidgiting with them."You nervous O?"
O looked at me."No why would I be?"
I raised an eyebrow."Your fidgeting with your hands."
O dropped her hands."Fine, I am nervous. I'm worried that I didn't get a scholarship."
I sighed."O you did, don't worry about it."
Camilo came up behind O and put his hands on her shoulders."Yeah Octavia, you did awesome at the Spring Concert. There is no way you didn't get a scholarship."
O smiled."Thanks Puppy." Since Keenan's funeral, Camilo had been going to therapy and had regained more of his memories. He was almost behaving like his old self again, though he still had random bursts of memories that sometimes left him wanting to scream. Mrs. Rose appeared carrying some papers, and looking excited.
"Students, take your seats." Mrs. Rose ordered.
Clarke, Octavia, Raven, Camilo and I sat in the front row.
Mrs. Rose placed her hands on her hips."I am sure all of you are very anxious to know who received a scholarship." Everyone murmured their agreement, Clarke slipped her hand into mine.
"Well, I guess I should let you know then. NYU awarded five of you with scholarahips, and I have the paperwork for those five in my hand." She waited a little.
"Just tell us who got the scholarships!" Some kid called from the back of the theatre.
Mrs. Rose smiled."Those five are Octavia Blake," the students clapped.
I smiled over to my sister,"I told you, you'd get a scholarship."
Mrs. Rose continued."The other four are Bellamy Blake, Camilo Cortez, Clarke Griffin, and Raven Reyes." I sighed in releif, I had a scholarship. Mrs. Rose continued to list of the schools, the five of us had received many scholarships to study music and performing arts from different school, which included the Berklee School of Music, and the Manhattan Scool of Music. Many other students received scholarships as well. Finally, Mrs. Rose reached the final school which had offered scholarships, Juilliard.
"Juilliard, to much surprise, offered five scholarships." Mrs. Rose told us."And I assume you all know who those five are." I heard our names being murmured. "Bellamy, Clarke, Octavia, Camilo, and Raven have all been offered a scholarship at Juilliard." I looked over at Clarke, she was smiling. O, Camilo, and Raven were also smiling. I myself couldn't help but grin. We had gotten scholarships to many of the best Music and Performing Arts schools in the U.S. I never imagined that I would actually get any scholarship, let alone more than five full scholarships. I actually had a choice to make, not to mention that I had received an offer for an athletic scholarship. Maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't end up dragging Clarke down with me. The rest of the day went by quickly, and I enjoyed every minute of it with my Princess. Once the day was over, I said good bye to my Princess, and O and I got in my car. We arrived to our home in no time, O went up to her bedroom to text Lincoln. Her and Lincoln had grown closer these past few weeks, and though I didn't fully approve of their relationship, considering that he was older than her by a good amount, I couldn't bring myself to go against the relationship once I saw how O's face lit up at the mere mention of Lincoln. In truth, I had opposed the relationship when I first found out, but eventually I excepted it. I went to my room and laid on my bed as I studied for finals. My phone buzzed. It was a text from an unknown number.
291-1093
Mr. Blake, this is Dr. Griffin- Clarke's mom. I would like to speak to you about my daughter. Are you free to talk in about fifteen minutes?
I considered it. I hadn't spoke much to Dr. Griffin since the incident with Clarke being captured, but I needed to. I hadn't given Clarke her engagement ring, but I planned to, and this time I wanted our engagement to be with her mother's consent.
Me:
Yes Dr. Griffin, I am free to speak to you, where do you want to meet?
My phone buzzed again.
291-1093
We can meet at the park near Arcadia High School
Me:
I will meet you there Dr. Griffin.
I slid my phone back into my pocket, and went downstairs.
"O, I'm going somewhere!" I yelled.
"Okay!" I heard her yell back. With that I went to my car, and drove to the park. I waited for Dr. Griffin to arrive, while sitting on a park bench. I looked down at my hands.
"Mr. Blake," Dr. Griffin said.
I stood up and extended my hand."Dr. Griffin."
She shook my hand then sat down on the park bench."Thank you for agreeing to meet with me."
I too sat on the bench."Well, you said that you wanted to talk to me about Clarke, and Clarke is the most important person in my life."
Dr. Grifin nodded."Before we speak about Clarke I would like to share with you a story about my grandmother, Krista."
My eyebrows drew together."Okay."
She proceeded to tell me Krista's story and how her fiance, who had been disliked by the family had been shot down.
"They're story ended in a tradgedy that Krista never recovered from. And though you were able to save Clarke from Anya, I still fear that if something ever happens to either of you, that the other will not recover," Dr. Griffin explained."You have the same Blake DNA as Bastian, and while considering this, I have come to ask you to let my daughter go."
I froze, shocked at what she was asking me. I should have expected something like this."If you are simply afraid that our story will end similarly to Bastian's and Krista's, I assure you th-"
Dr. Griffin interrupted me."It is not just that I am worried about."
I met Dr. Griffin's gaze."Then what else is there?"
Dr.Griffin sighed."Clarke was offered a spot at Stanford, which has one of the best medical programs in the U.S."
She got into Stanford? Why didn't Clarke tell me?
Dr. Griffin continued," but she is considering not taking the offer, and I think it's because of you. She wants to go to the same college as you."
What? No- I couldnt believe that Clarke would give up going to Standford, because of me. "Are you sure I am the reason?"
Dr. Griffin nodded."Yes, I know my daughter, and she wants to be a doctor. There cannot be another reason." I didn't respond."Bellamy, I know you love my daughter, and I thank you for it, but if you love her then let her go. Let her follow her dreams." With that she stood and left, leaving me alone with my thoughts. One of my worst fears has come to life again, I was bringing Clarke down with me. I didn't want to drag her down, I didn't. I groaned, leaning back into the bench. What was I going to do?
Clarke P.O.V(Graduation Day)
I woke up with a smile on my face. Today was the day, the day I graduated from Arke High. I immediately jumped in the shower, singing to a High School Musical song that was stuck in my head for some reason. I then got out of the shower and changed into a cute black dress with a midnight blue crop jacket. I slipped on some flats, and after fixing my hair into soft curls, I ran downstairs. My mom was downstairs armed with a camera, and ready to take photos.
"Smile," she told me. I did and after a few pictures, she handed me my cap and gown. I put on both and turned to my mom.
"How do I look?" I asked.
She sniffed as tears shined in her eyes."Oh sweetie, you look beautiful."
I pulled my mom into a hug."Don't cry mom, if you cry then I'll start to cry."
My mom hugged me back tightly, then held me at arms length."You're all grown up now. You're no longer my baby girl."
I smiled at her."No I'm not, but I am still your daughter."
My mother pulled me into another hug, just as there was a knock on my door. I rushed to open the door, it was Bellamy all dressed up in his cap and gown. I threw my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his. He instantly responded. His lips were rough, but they tasted like Heaven. Bellamy wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close. I breathed in his intoxicating smell, and we continued to move our lips in synce until we were out of breath. We seperated, and laid our foreheads against each others, smiling.
"We made it," he whispered, eyes closed.
"Yes we did," I laughed.
We heard the click of a camera."And that is for my blog."
I peered behind Bellany and saw Octavia in a white dress. "Hi Octavia."
She smiled at me."Hey BFF."
With my arms still around Bellamy's neck, I asked,"Are we going to pick up the others or are they meeting us there?"
"They're meeting us there." She responded."Are you ready?"
I nodded."We are just waiting
on Camilo."
"I'm here, I'm here!" Camilo said, rushing to meet us at the door."Are we going now?"
Bellany nodded."Yeah let's go." We began to walk out of the house when my mother stopped us.
"Wait!" She called. We all turned to her."I need pictures." We all laughed, and posed for the picture. Bellamy and I were in the middle. Camilo was to my right, Octavia was to Bellamy's left. Camilo put his arm around my shoulder, Bellamy did too, and he also put an arm around Octavia's shoulder. We all smiled and after taking a few more pictures of each of us individually and in pairs, she let us leave, telling us that she would be at the Graduation Ceremony with Charlotte in a little while. When we arrived at the school's football field, where the ceremony would take place, everyone was rushing to get to thwir placea. We spotted Miller, Raven, Monty, Murphy, and Jasper, and took a few pictures with them before heading to our places. Parents were starting to fill the seats, and I saw my mother take a seat with Charlotte. The ceremony then began. They called names one by one. Soon they reached Bellamy.
"Bellamy Blake," the Principal called. Bellany walked on stage and received his certificate, shaking hands with the Principal then smiling at the camera. He looked amazing, and my heart fluttered with both joy and love, knowing that he was mine. The Principal even gave him a hug, which he hadn't done to other students. They kept calling names, Camilo went on stage looking a bit shy. Monty was only two people ahead of me, and before he went in stage he turned to me with a smile. "See you on the other side."
I laughed."Yeah, okay." Monty smiled goofly at the camera before going off stage.
Finally, they called my name.
"Clarke Griffin."
I took a deep breath, and walked on stage. I shook hands with the Principal as I received my certificate, then smiled at the camera. For a moment I glanced at the crowd. I saw my mom with tears in her eyes, Octavia cheering me on, Camilo and Monty smiling, and Belamy looking at me with so much love in his eyes, that I became woozy. After the photo was taken, I walked off the stage, and sat next to Bellamy in the front row. He took my hand, and leaned in close to my ear.
"You look beautiful," he whispered.
I blushed and smiled, turning to him. I met his emotion-filled eyes,"I love you Bellamy Blake."
He smiled."I love you Clarke Griffin." We then turned back to the ceremony, and watched the rest our friends receive their high school certificates. At this moment I couldn't be any happier. When the ceremony ended, we all met up with our parents, and agreed to meet at the Graduation after party which was being held at the newly rebuilt Mt. Weather club, which now belonged to my Uncle Wallace. He had paid for it to be rebuilt and was now the owner if it.
My mother took many more pictures of Bellamy, Camilo, and I before we were able to head to the after-party. Octavia was coming along too. We arrived at the after-party, and quickly found our friends. Together we danced to the music. I looked around the group, and smiled to myself. We had been through so much, and now here we all were. Bellamy, Octavia, Camilo and I had all lost something in this town, but now we had each other. When I came back to Arke, and enrolled into Arke High, I never thought that what happened this year would happen. I never thought my life would be turned upside down, but I was glad that I at least had my friends and Bellamy with me. Arke High had changed my life, and with that change came the one person that made me happy. The one person I truly loved, Bellamy Blake.
