Camilo P.O.V.
I woke up around what I guessed was mid day, and changed into what Octavia had yesterday told me were suitable clothes for a date. I was in normal jeans, a white shirt, and a black tuxedo like coat. I them walked to the girls tent, because they said they would help me set up the date. I slapped the tent.
"Come in!" I heard Clarke say.
"Hey puppy!" Octavia said excitedly.
"Hey Octavia.Rae, Fox, Clarkie." I greeted with a nod to each, and my hands behind my back.
"So are you ready for your date?" Fox asked.
I shrugged."Guess so. You guys are still helping me set up right?" They nodded.
"Okay let's go get some stuff and then we will head off to the lake. I'm just going to tell Bellamy." Clarke said. She left then came back with a blanket in hand. She tossed it to me.
"What's this?" I asked curiously.
"That is your picnic blanket, so you don't have to sit on the dirty floor." She told me. I nodded.
"Let's go get the food." Raven said. We walked to the food tent and they grabbed some canned fruit for a fruit salad. There were plates so we had to improvise. They first emptied to cans then made the fruit salad in the cans. We then took the blanket and fruit salad to the lake we set it down next to the lake. Raven had also brought one of her bags of marshmallows. Then I with their help cleaned two empty cans, and purified the some water. When we were all done they looked over the improvised date, and Octavia spoke up."Somethings missing." They nodded in agreement.
"I know!" She yelled and grabbed Clarke pulling her into the forest. After ten minutes they came back with a bouquet of flowers. They were yellow and I think they were tulips. Octavia handed me the flowers.
"Give these to her when she comes." She ordered. I nodded.
"Ok let's go get her. You stay here." Clarke told me. They all walked back to cam to get Keenan. I was sitting on a rock when Clarke came back with Keenan.
"Hey." I greeted Keenan.
"Hey." She said.
"The flowers." Clarke mouthed. Oh yeah.
"These are for you." I told her. Keenan smiled and took the. I looked over her shoulder just to see Clarke give me a thumbs up with a smile, she then walk away. We sat down on the blanket and I handed her a can with fruit salad.
"Sorry it's not much, but we are on a survival trip so.." My voice trailed off.
"It's fine." She said with a smile, as she began eating her fruit salad. For the first time I actually took in how she looked. She had short dirty blond hair, and an innocent looking face. She was actually kinda pretty. Nothing on Clarke though. I of course only liked Clarke like a friend, but I had to admit she was beautiful. With her blue eyes which seemed to be constantly changing shade, sometimes looking green, her perfect wavy blonde hair, and her angelic smile, she honestly did look like a Princess. All she was missing was a crown. Her beauty I have noticed wasn't just on the outside. It was on the inside too. Since the day I met her she has done nothing but make me and my sister feel welcome, like we weren't a bother. I could tell that she actually cared for my sister even if they had just met a couple weeks ago. My sister actually trusted Clarke, and saw her as dare I say family. Charlotte in the short time she's known Clarke looked up to her. I didn't know what it was about Clarke that made us trust her when we only trusted each other, and our mother. Other people had been nice to us too, and tried to reach out to is but we never trusted them. It was possible that we trusted Clarke because, unlike the other people who had tried to reach out to us, she didn't give up. She didn't press on getting info. out of us, but she kept being nice to us. She kept trying to make us laugh, make us feel like we were home, she sometimes even got us to forget that our mother was in a hospital gravely ill.
"What are you thinking about?" Keenan's voice tore me from my thoughts.
"Nothing." I lied.
"So why'd you move?" She asked.
"Some problems back at home. Luckily the Griffins were nice enough to let my sister and me live at there house." I responded sticking a pineapple in my mouth.
"You're living with Clarke?" She asked and I nodded.
"Tell me about your sister." She said.
"She's twelve and her names Charlotte." I answered not wanting to give too much information on my sister if I didn't have to. I didn't trust Keenan, there was just something about her that seemed to make me uncomfortable around her. I've noticed many people back at camp seem at ease around her, maybe it's because she looks like a trustworthy person, but I just feel like I need to be guarded around her. When she's around me I get a feeling she's hiding something. I ignored the feeling as much as I could, because it was probably just my trust issues.
"Does she get along with Clarke?" She asked.
I couldn't help but smile."She gets along great with Clarke. Charlotte loves Clarke, she looks up to her like you would to an older sister. And I can tell Clarke really cares about Charlotte. Whenever Clarke can she plays with Charlotte, I honestly think they get along better than me and Charlotte." It was true, maybe it was cause they were both girls or something.
"That's nice." Keenan said with a smile.
"How bout you, do you have any siblings?" I asked.
"Two actually. An older sister and an older brother. I'm the youngest." She responded."Can you tell me about your friends?"
"Sure." I said. I began telling her about Monty and Jasper. How hilarious they were then about Miller and his Youtube channel. She said she saw a video on his channel a couple months ago of a Truth or Dare game. She told me that all of them ended up blue. I made a mental note to watch it. Then I told her about Miles, and how him and Fox had this weird thing going on. I told her about how overprotective Bellamy was of his sister. Then how much Clarke cared about her friends. She asked who I would say Clarke was the closest too. I found it suspicious, but I blamed it on my trust issues so I answered by saying she was closest to Octavia, Jasper, and Monty. I told her about how there was three things that Clarke always wore, which were her fathers watch the necklace she got from Bellamy and the heart lock bracelet. I told her that she loved her cousin Thalia who was a photographer, and her mother. I could tell she and her cousin were really close because she got really excited when she got a letter from her saying she could come over for Christmas. Clarke was so happy she let out an ear splitting shriek, and almost tackled me with a hug. After I finished telling her about my friends I asked about hers. She said that back at her old school Arcadia her friends were like family to her and she would do anything for her family. After we finished eating, we ate some of the marshmallows, and then headed back to camp. I carried the blanket and left over marshmallows in one hand and the other carried the two cans. When we reached the camp, Keenan stopped me.
"Wait so did this trial date work? I mean are we actually dating?" She asked.
I shrugged."I don't know. I'm not trying to be rude, but that didn't really feel like what I think a date should feel like."
She nodded. Then she leaned in and kissed me. I was frozen for a second, but then I kissed back. I didn't feel anything though. It was just a kiss, a kiss that made me feel absolutely nothing. I pulled back."Sorry, but I don't think we will work out as a couple." I told her as nicely as I could.
"It's okay I get it. Can we be friends though?" She asked.
"Of course." I answered with a friendly smile. She walked into camp and I went to go put away the blanket. After I changed into a dark green shirt I walked over to the fire. It was dark know. As I neared, I heard them sing"Happy birthday to you." Then Monty added,"You live in a zoo."
"Who's the birthday person?" I asked curiously.
"The Princess herself." Octavia answered. Everyone laughed at this.
"It's your birthday?" I asked.
"Yep."
"Well Happy Birthday Clarkie!" I exclaimed. Clarke was sitting next to Bellamy, he had an arm around her shoulders. Raven was on Monty's lap, Octavia had her head resting on Jasper's shoulder, and Miles was looking a little nervous siting next to Fox. Miller was sitting on the floor leaning against a log alone so I decided to sit next to him since.
"Hey man." He greeted and shook my hand. I sat down next to him.
"So how old are you Clarke?" I asked.
"18." She answered.
"Woah you're old!" Jasper exclaimed earning a slap over the head from Octavia. We all laughed.
"Japer aren't you 18 too?" Raven asked.
"Yes. But I am a kid at heart." He answered proudly. They were having Clarke try to guess what the got her for her birthday and I felt kinda bad I didn't get her anything.
"What present do you think you'll like the most Princess?" Bellamy asked. Princess, that gave me an idea.
"No offense to everyone, but I already think Bellamy's is the best." She said and looked up at him lovingly. He smiled sweetly down at her and kissed the top of her head. This caused the girls to 'aww'. I had to admit, that was very sweet.
"I'll be right back." I told them and I stood. As soon as I was out of sight I sprinted as fast as I could into the forest. It took me about five minutes to reach the lake. I was out of breath. I went across the river by telling on stones, and then began to sprint once more. After a couple minutes I reached a place with a lot of beautiful flowers. I picked different color roses and made them into a flower crown, like Charlotte had once shown me. Once I was done I ran back to camp, careful not to destroy the crown. I hid it behind my back and walked to the fire.
"Where'd you go?" Octavia asked."You were gone for like twenty minutes."
"Well I didn't know when Clarke's birthday was, and I felt bad that I didn't have a present. So I went to get her one." I explained.
"That's so nice, but you didn't have to." Clarke said.
"Well I did so here you go." I said and placed the flower crown into her hands.
"This is really pretty. Did you make it?" Clarke asked.
"Yeah." I said. Octavia, Raven, and Fox went to look at the crown.
"It's so cool!" Exclaimed Octavia. Raven and Fox nodded in agreement.
"How do you know how to make one?" Fox asked.
"My little sister showed me. May I?" I asked Clarke taking the crown. She nodded and I placed it on her head.
"Now you completely look like a Princess." I told her.
She smiled."Thanks it's great."
"Can you make me one?" Asked Octavia.
"Sure, but maybe tomorrow, I'm kinda tired from sprinting." I said. She nodded.
I sat back down next to Miller, and looked around the camp fire. Everyone was smiling, and I truly felt like I was part of them. I missed my best friend, but with these people even with Bellamy, I felt at home. I didn't completely trust them, but I knew most of them would have my back.
