A/N I'm back! I'm still a little sick, but I can handle it. Thanks to all you guys who commented on my authors note telling me to get better. Okay here it is. Hope you like it. And if I have any guy readers can you tell me what it is that's making you read this story? Oh and who else saw the 2x11 promo and is scared for Bellamy?
Octavia P.O.V
We stood in the living room with Mr.Wallace, and it was the most awkward thing in the world. I couldn't stand it anymore so I yelled for Clarke. Moments later Clarke came down with Thalia. I almost sighed with relief at her presence.
"Uncle Wallace!" Thalia exclaimed with a smile and an overly cheery voice.
"Thalia nice to see you again." They shook hands. He turned to Clarke,"Where is your mother Clarke?"
She answered quickly."Working at the hospital."
Mr. Wallace nodded."Well why don't I get know your friends while we wait for her." That did not sound appealing at all."She will be back in time for dinner, am I correct?"
Clarke nodded in response."How about we all sit?"
Mr.Wallace, Thalia, and Cage sat on the couch. I sat on one of the recliners and Clarke sat on the other, while Bellamy stood behind Clarke's and Charlotte sat on the arm of mine.
Mr. Wallace turned to me. Oh no."Octavia right?"
I nodded.
"You're Bellamy's sister and Clarke's friend." He stated though it sounded more like a question.
I nodded again.
"How long have you known Clarke?" He asked.
"Since we were little, I was about six years old I think." I responded.
He looked half surprised."Oh well then Clarke must've not mentioned you on my visits. How old are you?"
"Sixteen sir." I answered as politely as I could.
"Have you ever been in any kind of trouble, in or out of school?" He asked.
I restrained myself from biting my lip, as I tend to do when I feel like someone has something against me."Only small things in school."
"What kind of small things?" He asked. Why so may questions? What was this this a criminal interrogation?
"Detention." I answered. He nodded then looked to Charlotte.
"And who are you Charlotte?" He asked.
"I'm Camilo's sister." She responded quietly.
"Who's Camilo?" He asked.
Clarke answered."He is the son of one of my mother's friend he and Charlotte are staying with us for the time being." I knew the next question before Mr.Wallace asked it.
"And where is this Camilo?" No one answered. Cage looked at everyone suspiciously.
"Why isn't anybody answering my fathers question?" Again nobody answered. I was certainly not going to answer and have him question me some more. Finally after what seemed like an eternity of silence Bellamy decided to break it.
In a stern voice he said,"In the hospital."
Mr.Wallace nodded in understanding, then looked at Bellamy."Son me you and me have a conversation waiting. Would you like to talk now?" That couldn't end well.
"Sure." He said.
"Do you have a room we can speak in privately Clarke?" Mr. Wallace asked.
Clarke looked nervous. I would be too if my uncle was about to interrogate my boyfriend. "Yes, my mother's home office it is down the hall the second door to the right."
Mr. Wallace nodded."Okay son let's go shall we?"
Bellamy nodded and smiled at Clarke. He didn't look even a bit nervous."Ill be right back Princess."
I saw that Mr. Wallace didn't fail to notice the use of the word Princess. They walked into the hall way. I immediately stood to go listen, but Clarke stopped me.
"Octavia I know what you're thinking. Don't go spy on them." She told me.
"But Clarkie."I whined.
"But Octavia." She imitated my tone making me frown.
"Fine." I crossed my arms and slumped back into the recliner. I had to fight the gnawing feeling to get up and go listen into their conversation. I needed to know what was going on. He was my brother after all and I wanted to know what Mr.Wallace and him were talking about. To be honest it was mostly curiosity making me want to listen in, and not the fact that my brother was getting interrogated. Oh well I would just have to ask him later.
Bellamy P.O.V
I followed Clarke's uncle into the office. He sat down behind the desk on the office chair and I sat in a chair in front of the desk.
As soon I sat he began to speak."Mr. Blake how long have you known Clarke?"
I swallowed, and answered."As long as Octavia has, but to be honest I do not remember her from when we were kids."
He nodded,"And how long have you been dating?"
"Over two months." I responded. I've never had to be questioned because of my relationship with a girl, and I was happy for that. Happy because this one of the most uncomfortable talks ever, and I wouldn't want to go through this again, but I would for Clarke.
"What are your intentions with her?"He asked.
I answered immediately."To love her."
Seemingly unhappy with my answer he asked,"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean that I want to be with her and I will do absolutely anything to keep her happy and safe." I responded truthfully. I wasn't sure if he would be happy with my answer or not, but I didn't care, because it was the truth. Also, facing the disapproval of Mr.Wallace couldn't be worse than facing the one of Dr. Griffin.
He nodded."How old are you?"
"Nineteen."
"Do you have a job?"
"Yes."
"What is your job?" He asked. This was starting to feel like an overprotective dad to boyfriend talk.
"A video game tester." He seemed revolted by the idea, and it was a bit annoying. Personally I did not did not like that. Never have I had to be interrogated, by an overprotective family member I mean. Though that was because I haven't had an actual relationship before. And even if it was a little uncomfortable I would do this for Clarke a million of times if I had to.
Disgusted he asked,"What kind of job is a video game tester?"
My hands clenched, but we're hidden under the table."It's an okay job. The pay isn't bad, and I make more than I would if I was waiting tables at a restaurant."
"What type of career are you looking to study?" He asked. I was almost positive he was not going to like my response, but I answered anyways.
"I'm looking at an athletic career or a music career."
He looked horrified as expected."Athletics or music? What could you offer Clarke with one of those careers?" Before I could answer he continued."The only thing you could offer her is money struggles while you follow a silly dream."
My hands clenched tighter, as I resisted the urge to lash out on him. It took all my strength to stay calm. He continued."And if you somehow were to actually accomplish becoming someone in either of those fields, how do you think Clarke would feel when you're never with her because you are to busy or when those paparazzi follow you?"
I knew he had a point in that matter, but if I ever did have a career in music Clarke would always comes first. I momentarily wondered how he would react if Clarke told him that she was thinking about a music or artistic career instead or along with becoming a doctor. Clarke loved the idea of saving people, but she also wanted to do something that was her own achievement. Thalia I was sure was the only person in her family who knew this, because they were so close and Thalia herself had chosen to follow her dream of photography instead of becoming a lawyer like her mother had wanted.
"Nothing to say well I have one last question to ask." I looked at him as he continued on."You said your intentions were to love her, does that mean that you are in love with my niece, Clarke Griffin?" He asked.
I didn't have to think it through. I've said that I loved her billions of times before and every time I did I meant it."Yes, I am in love with my Princess, Clarke Griffin. And I will stand up to whoever and whatever I have to to keep her with me."
Deadly calm he stared at me with slight disbelief."Even me, and her mother?"
My face was like stone, serious and calm."I've been protecting our love from her mother since I met Dr.Griffin. Adding yet another person to the list of people who want to keep us apart , even if it is you, won't make much of a difference. And do you know why?" I paused.
With his chin still raised high and slight anger in his voice he asked,"Why?"
I knew that by telling him what I was going to would either make him despise and disapprove me, or make me gain his approval. I hoped for the second one, but that was just hope. Either way it was true."Because are love is too strong to be torn apart by anyone. I'm not sorry to say that even if you tried to do anything to break us up you would fail miserably. Not even the great Augustus could break us up."
I looked at him only to see Mr. Wallace almost glaring at me. I guess despise and disapproval it was. I mentally sighed, another person to fight against. At least this one was only here for a while.
"I think we are done with this conversation Mr.Blake." He told me. I nodded and we stood leaving the room. When we entered the living room all heads turned to us. Clarke walked over to me. Mr.Wallace went to sit on the couch and they all began to small talk. Clarke dragged me away from the group, just far enough so no one could hear us.
"How'd it go?" She asked looking up at me with her big, sea colored eyes.
I smiled at her with fake enthusiasm I clapped my hands,"It looks like we are going to have another person at our wedding who will be waiting to object."
She raised n eyebrow."It went that bad?"
I nodded,"Sadly It did, at least he's only here for a while right?"
She nodded, but looked down. I tilted her chin up softly to make her look at me."Whats wrong?"
"Im worried." She admitted.
"About what?" I asked.
"The dinner. It was going to be hard enough telling my mother, and now here is my uncle and it's going to be ten times worse." She told me.
I placed my hands one shoulders,"Everything's going to be fine, we will tell them together."
She nodded, and we headed back to the group. We talked about school, and other things such as Thalia's photography and Cage's scientific work until we heard a car pull up. Clarke looked at me, time was nearing for us to give the news. Dr.Griffin walked in and noticed me first. After narrowing her eyes at me she noticed Mr.Wallace and Cage. She seemed surprised at finding them here.
"Uncle Wallace came to visit, isn't that great Aunty Abigail?" Thalia asked.
Dr.Griffin plastered a smile onto her face."Wonderful." Mr.Wallace stood and shook hands with Dr.Griffin, as with Cage."Clarke will you set the table as I fix up dinner?"
Clarke nodded and went to set the table as Dr. Griffin went to the kitchen. Thalia continued to talk about her trip to South America, and soon it was time for the dinner. We say down at the table, Dr.Griffin and Mr.Wallace at either end. Cage sat next to his father and Clarke next to Dr.Griffin. I sat next to Clarke, Charlotte sat next to me.Thalia, and O sat across from us. As we began to eat I noticed Dr.Griffin's constant glaring at me and I knew she was still unhappy with me being here. Octavia began to speak,"So Mr.Wallace how long do you plan on staying?"
"Until New Years." He responded.
"That's how long I'll be staying too." Thalia said. The talk then disintegrated into an awkward silence.
Halfway through the meal Dr.Griffin turned to me,"So Mr.Blake what are you doing here?" She had clear annoyance in her voice.
"Mom." Clarke warned. I held her hand under the table, letting her know it was okay.
"I came to visit my girlfriend." I told her."Is that not allowed?" Mr. Wallace watched us carefully.
"Mr. Blake I've told you before that I didn't want you in my house." She said sternly.
"And I've told you before that I love your daughter and I will do anything to keep her with me." I said just as sternly. She looked like she would have killed me then and there if she could.
Through gritted teeth she said,"I think you should leave Mr.Blake."
This time Clarke spoke up,"Mother I will not let you kick out Bellamy. He is my boyfriend, and he will stay for dinner."
"No Clarke, he will not."
"Yes he will." Clarke repeated stubbornly.
"Clarke." Her mother said.
"Mom." Clarke repeated her mother's tone.
"Mrs.Griffin my brother has a very good reason for being here." O told her. Dr.Griffin turned her attention to O.
"What is that reason?" Dr.Griffin asked.
O gestured to Clarke and I."They should tell you." The attention was drawn to us. We exchanged a look, and nodded.
Clarke stood."I'll be right back." Moments later she returned hiding her hands behind her back. It was time, I stood next to Clarke and grasped her right hand.
"The reason I have com here tonight is so together," I glanced at Clarke then back at the others,"we could announce that," I paused again and we finished together,"we are engaged." Dr.Griffins face went pale with shock, Mr.Wallace had the same expression her. Cage just looked surprised, as Thalia and Octavia looked at the adults warily.
"What?" Asked Dr.Griffin.
"We are getting married." Clarke said and revealed the ring on her left hand. Dr.Griffin dropped her spoon and stared at us. Charlotte squealed and ran to hug Clarke.
With a huge smile she said,"That's amazing Clarke." Clarke smiled sweetly at Charlotte, but he moment was quickly ruined by Mr.Wallace."No this is not acceptable! I will not have this!" He violently stood from his chair as did everyone else. "You two cannot get married!"
"Uncle Wallace I know what you must be thinking," Clarke began.
"No you do not know, because if you did you would not be engaged to this boy!" He gestured to me. This boy can kick your ass I thought.
"Uncle Wallace! I love this boy!" Clarke yelled back.
"You don't love him! You're too young to know what love is!" Dr. Griffin joined in.
"No Dr.Griffin neither her nor I are too young to know what love is because we have experienced it." I said calmly.
Dr.Griffin faced me."You will never marry my daughter."
I finally lost it."You do not get to decide that!"
"I agree with Bellamy. That is purely the decision of him and me." Clarke said.
Once again Mr.Wallace felt the need to speak."No it is not! I do not approve of this! I will not let you ruin your life!"
Dr.Griffin joined Mr.Wallace."Neither will I! If you marry him you will regret it! It'll be the worst choice of your life!"
I've had enough of there opinions for now."Mr.Wallace, Dr. Griffin I did not come here to ask you permission! I came here to notify you our decision. We do not need or want your opinion or approval."
Clarke nodded and said,"Your disapproval will not stop us from getting married."
Dr.Griffin stared at her daughter."Clarke you cannot do this."
Firmly Clarke said,"Yes I can."
Dr.Griffin said,"No Clarke."
I decided that this conversation was done, and said,"We have told you what we needed to tell you and I think that means we are done. Let's go Clarke. "Clarke nodded and followed me to the doorway, so did Octavia.
"Where are you taking my daughter?" Dr.Griffin asked.
"Away from here at least for tonight until you cool down." I said.
"Thalia take care of Charlotte, if she has a nightmare sing her a lullaby." Clarke said. Thalia nodded then we left leaving that whole scene behind. We hopped into my car, O was in the back and Clarke was beside me. At home O went straight to her room claiming to be tired. Luckily the Kane's weren't home. Clarke followed me to the bedroom. Since we had just left she did not have anything to sleep in so I lent her one of my shirts and sweatpants. Both were incredibly large so I went to ask O if she had anything Clarke could sleep in. I then gave the pjs to Clarke, but she chose to stay and my shirt and only trade out my sweatpants for pj pants. We laid on my bed in silence, her head was on my chest and my arms were wrapped around her.
"You okay Princess?"
"Yeah." She answered.
"Worried about your mom?" I asked.
"No I'm worried she'll do something to separate us." She responded. I was worried about that too.
"I won't let that happen." I promised her.
"Neither will I." She said sleepily.
"Go to sleep Princess." She yawned as her eyes drooped shut. I kissed the top of her head, and fell into a blissful sleep.
