Clarke P.O.V
Once Bellamy left, I checked in in Camilo once more before checking on Charlotte. Charlotte was reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I went back to my room and took a refreshing shower, then I cleaned my room. I decide to work a little bit on my Choir project which was due on Monday. Both Camilo and myself had been putting it off, so we had made absolutely no headway with it. I looked up various songs we could make into a mash up, looking for around thirty-five minutes before finally deciding on three. Then I began trying to write lyrics for the song we were supposed to do. I tapped my pencil on my notebook. No lyrics came to mind, not even a single topic to write about. Maybe I should just wait to right the lyrics with Camilo, I thought. No, I need to do something today or else this wasn't going to get done with it today. I sighed and went back to thinking. After a while my thought began to trail off. Instead of trying to think of lyrics I began to think once again of Bellamy. I thought of his smile, his smirk, his eyes, his features, his personality, his laugh.
"Oh!" I said to myself as I figured out a topic for my song. I worked on the lyrics which were now seeming to spew out of me, and I lost track of tome. Now, it was almost dinner time when there was a knock on the door. I walked downstairs opening the door to find Cage, and my Uncle Wallace. This didn't surprise me, because they had been coming over for dinner almost every other day. My mother, also had decided it would be good if every once in a while she was here for dinner. Today was one of the days she was going to be here for dinner, and afterwards I would hopefully be able to convince her to talk with me and Bellamy. I greeted my uncle and Cage, then led them into the living room. I wondered why they hadn't left yet, but I decided not to ask. Simply I assumed that they didn't have to go back to their home town yet, and they wanted to be around family. I personally still felt the absence of Thalia, I assumed I always would, but I knew that she would kick my butt if she saw me going around moping. Having Bellamy around helped me a lot, I constantly thought of how lucky I was to have him around. Without him I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep going. My Uncle Wallace and Cage were chatting about business when Charlotte came down.
"Are we going to eat yet?" She asked."I'm hungry."
I smiled at her."Don't worry Char, we are just waiting for my mother. She's bringing food from the Chinese restaurant."
She nodded."Okay." Charlotte walked back upstairs. Ten minutes later my mother walked in caring food. I helped her carry the food in the kitchen, and left her to serve it as I went up to get Camilo and Charlotte. I knocked on Charlotte's door and told her it was dinner time. Next I knocked on Camilo's door.
"Camilo, time for dinner!" There was no answer. I put my ear against the door and heard the faucet turning off. Camilo opened the door with wet hair and only wearing some jeans.
"Hey it's time for dinner."He nodded,"Okay i'm just going to out on a shirt." He shut the door and I walked downstairs. I sat next to Charlotte. One Camilo came down he sat down next to me. At first no one spoke just like always when my uncle and Cage came came to eat with us. My mom put down her fork and wiped her mouth before speaking.
"Clarke dear, are you still moving forward with," My mother paused as if saying it was hard for her," your engagement?" Everyone stopped eating and looked between my mother and me. I admit that I was surprised she was the one to bring this up, considering she seemed to absolutely despise my engagement with Bellamy.
"Yes." I answered.
Charlotte tapped on my shoulder. "Can I be the flower girl?"
I smiled at her."Of course you can. Who else would be the flower girl?" She smiled back at me.
"Are you sure about this Clarke?" My mother asked.
"Yes mother, I am." I responded tensely.
My mother sighed."Well then, the three of us need to talk about what plans you two have after you get married."
I stared at her in shock, as did the others. I couldn't speak. Was she really, in some way, approving my engagement to Bellamy?
"Abby are you sure you are okay with your daughter marrying that, that boy?" My Uncle Wallace asked.
She shook her head," No I am not." Never mind, she was not approving my relationship with him."But Clarke cares deeply for him, and I think it is my duty as a mother to at least try to get to know who this boy is, and see if he means well."
" Mother, I don't care deeply for him as you put it," I began.
"You don't?" She questioned.
I shook my head."No I don't. I am in love with him, in the strongest and deepest way possible."
My mother waved me off."You are too young to be in love, honey."
I leaned back in my chairs and crossed my arms."When did you fall in love with dad?"
She scrunched her eyebrows,"I don't see how that relates to this conversation."
"When did you fall in love with dad?" I repeated firmly. I knew the answer of course. She fell in love with him at age twenty-one, when she was only three years older than me. She had no reason to say that I was too young to fall in love, when she was only a bit older when she herself had fallen in love.
"Twenty-one." She said.
"Exactly. You were young, like me when you fell in love. So why am I too young?" I asked her.
"Honey, when I fell in love with your dad we both already had a future ahead of us. We were both studying careers, and we both knew what we wanted. You don't know what you want, and you don't even know if that boy is going to a college." She told me, sounding slightly insincere.
"Mom I know what I want. I want to be with Bellamy, and what does it matter if he goes to college or not? What matters is that I love him, and I cannot and will not be without him." My voice slightly raised.
"Clarke," She said in an exasperated voice."I don't want to argue with you on that topic anymore. Invite Bellamy for lunch next Friday, so we can talk."
"I will." I told her.
"Okay." She turned back to her food and everyone once again began to eat, as did everyone else. after eating I walked to my room and texted Bellamy. I still had not changed how I had labeled him, but I doubted he minded very much.
Me: Hey guess what?
The response was immediate.
Asshole: What? Did you talk with your mom?
Me: Actually.... She was the one that brought up the topic of our engagement. She told me to invite you to lunch next Friday, that way the three of us could talk.
There was a pause before he responded.
Asshole: Princess, are you sure there is no other reason for her to invite me to lunch?
I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion.
Me: What other reason could there be?
Asshole: I don't know Princess, but i'll be there for lunch. Goodnight Princess. I love you.
Me: I love you too.
I put my phone on the nightstand, and covered myself with my blankets. I fell asleep almost instantly.
A/N Sorry for the long wait and shortness but I had and still have to study for Mid-terms, and there is also the fact I am emotionally unbalanced because of the last episode. I smiled, I cried, and I don't know what to think. How are you guys doing?
