The Potter Estate was a large place but each corridor had a handful of lamps. Yes it seems strange to specify that an old married couple, their son and his best friend owned alot of lamps but when Sirius joined them he confessed his fear of the dark. They all assumed he was being silly until Mia once heard the boy sprint from his room to James' in the middle of the night. That's when the great sell out of the Lake Districts lights happened. Mia had gone and bought about fifty lamps and small tables for them to go on, just so Sirius wouldn't be scared. She loved him like a second son.

"Sirius do you need anything?" Mia called as she clutched her shopping bag. "Aye, my siblings!" He chuckled and came and gave her a hug which had become a bit of a habit when she was going out. Sirius towered over her but she didn't mind, she liked knowing her son was safe and healthy. Just like a mother should.

"On second thought, we'll both come with you and Dad, camping stuff." He said clarifying and grabbing James by the back of his yellow t-shirt and causing him to nearly choke on a rice crispy. Calling them Mum and Dad had also become a happy habit.

Syd's arm had healed almost fully, after two weeks. However she now had 'Traitor' permanently etched into her skin. Her scar tissue was tight and often itchy she found, Regulus had spent half a day making sure she didn't scratch the flesh back in the week after it happened. The two siblings had only seen their father on two more occasions, non of which were nice. No one had laid a finger on Regulus which was slightly odd in Syd's opinion. She kept telling him to be careful and avoid everyone.

The time had finally come to ask both of their parents about the camping trip. James' letter had arrived that morning and Regulus had been quick to rush to Syd who was still asleep. "Piss off." She muttered as he crashed down on the bed next to her "I said piss off not make yourself comfortable." She whipped the duvet over her head. Regulus couldn't keep still he was so excited. "It came! It finally came Syd, WAKE UP! We have to go ask!" Syd was awake and alert. Freedom ran across her mind like a mare gallops across a meadow. She practically jumped out of bed and darted into the bathroom to make herself look presentable. She brushed her teeth, washed her face and applied a generous amount of dark makeup to her eyes. She knew her mother and father prefered her face to be caked in makeup, in Walburga's words it made her look more feminine.

Syd was ready five minutes later, admittedly she looked ready for a funeral in her long black dress with a small cardigan covering her arms. Regulus looked the same however, full black suit with no blazer and a silver pocket watch tucked into a small pocket. Syd recognised the watch to be Sirius' and smiled at her brother's sentimentalism. Together the siblings gathered themselves and made their way into the families parlor where their parents could be found the most. They stood almost shoulder to shoulder Infront of their tryranical parents. The fire blazing behind them, 12 Grimmauld Place was so cold that a fire in summer couldn't heat the wretched house. If Syd could have her way she'd paint it all sage green and teal. Orion looked at them, his tense and bruised hands sat on his knee. "Speak." he commanded as if he believed himself to be omipotent. "Both me and Regulus realise that we are to become Death Eaters" she nearly gaged on the words alone, "and believe that we should experience the outdoors since if we are to be Death Eaters we will probably be spending alot of time in the wilderness like you do Father." She could feel herself repeating those words, it felt rude and she hoped neither parent would realise.

Orion looked satisfied and even clapped Regulus on the back "Well done my boy!" Syd furrowed her brow, he was being congratulated for her words and the fact they had realised they were going to be Death Eaters. Her stomach churned as her father's gaze landed on her "I trust you to defend your brother if anything unfortunate happens." Syd felt numb, he wanted her to use illegal and underage magic to defend the 'heir' so he wouldn't go to Askaban for using magic when he shouldn't. Walburga looked thrilled, a small smile even crept across her stoney face. "I'll take you both shopping right away, go get your travel cloaks children."
