                               Chapter 70- The Challenge
                              **BLAINE**
"Patrol tonight is going out earlier. Make sure they don't get even a mile close to our captives chamber, understood?"
The people accompying my father all nod at his order.
                              "Blaine you too. Lets go."
I follow my father and everyone outside and shift when they shift.
We expanded on wolves per patrol for fear of not having enough men patrolling one day during an attack.
We need to protect our loved ones.
                              **BROOKE**
"STOP IT!" I slap Theo's hand away.
He keeps trying to cheat and move one of my pieces back one so he can win.
"I'm not doing anything." Theo says innocently.
I pick up Max from the floor as he walks by, and plop him on the board, letting him walk all over it.
If Theo wants to cheat I'll let Max to mess up our game.
"That was SO mean!" He cries.
"What? Max wanted to play." I use the same innocent voice Theo used before.
Theo frowns and then looks at the time.
"Ooops, got to go! Date with Emily!" He stands up.
                              Date with Emily?
I wonder, should I tell him thatshe has a boyfriend?
I'm not really sure what game she's playing with him. She has a mate, which I also don't understand why she is not with him right now.
"Have fun!" I smile, deciding to withhold the information for now.
Theo kisses my cheek and leaves me in my room.
"Well Max, this Emily thing is a mystery to me."  I scratch behind the kitten's ear.
Grabbing my sketchpad I begin to draw Max, who is falling asleep on top of the chess board.
I don't even know why we were playing chess, neither of us actually like chess. It's such a boring game, plus Theo always tries to cheat so there is no point playing.
Max is silently snoring his adorable cat snore as I finish the drawing and my cellphone rings.
I check the Caller ID and see that its my mother.
Excited, I pick up the phone.
She called me once after I first broke my foot to congratulate me, and ask if I liked her present.
I put the scrapbook right next to my bedside and look at it a lot.
                              I love it.
                              "Hey mom!" I pick up.
"Brooke darling! How are you? How's the foot?" She immediately starts asking questions.
I chuckle and answer, "Should be off by the end of the week."
"Thats great honey! Off in time for your birthday!" She exclaims happy for me.
"Yeah, I am really happy. This stupid cast is very restricting."
"I can imagine. So did you decide what you are doing for it?"
"For my birthday? Yeah I did. I'm inviting a bunch of friends over."
