I was still in shock, standing there, just staring at Enzo. He was still on his phone when the door opened, and Matteo walked out.
"First class... History..." Matteo said, taking my arm.
"Well... let's go then," I replied quietly. Enzo didn't even seem to notice as he stayed glued to his phone.
We made our way through the hallways when four high school football players approached us. Enzo and Matteo stopped. They exchanged handshakes, acting like... animals, seriously.
I felt invisible as my brothers stood in front of me. They ignored me, and of course, their friends did too. It was like I didn't even exist.
"Umm... the class starts in ten minutes..." I said quietly.
They didn't hear me. Their conversation was all about football, teamwork, and whatever else. For a moment, I considered just walking off to find my class myself. I didn't know where it was, but I could ask someone for help. Just as I was about to take a step back, my brothers grabbed my arms and pushed me further into the circle of their friends. Awkward.
"This is our little sister, Lissy," Enzo said, glancing at me while messing with my hair.
"Enzo," I muttered, annoyed. Did I really fix my hair this morning for him to mess it up?
Matteo, however, wrapped his arm around my shoulders gently but protectively. I think he wanted to make sure his teammates knew I wasn't some trophy to be won.
"I didn't know you had a sister," said a guy with short, dark hair.
"Maybe because we didn't tell you," Enzo said, rolling his eyes.
"I'm Aaron. Nice to finally meet you!" said a guy with dark blond hair and blue eyes, offering his hand. He was polite—at least he didn't treat me like an outsider.
"Finally?" I asked, shaking his hand and biting my lip.
"Yeah, I've been friends with your brothers since kindergarten. I've known you since you were a baby, Lissy," Aaron added, making me feel a little embarrassed for some reason.
"Oh, okay... Nice to meet you too, Aaron," I said, looking into his eyes. They were so light, and he gave off a really nice vibe.
"I'm Mason. Didn't know you existed... I moved here six months ago," said Mason, who had short, dark hair and a somewhat annoyed expression.
"Don't mind him," Enzo said. "He hasn't slept in two days. I'm Ace, by the way—the most talented and handsome guy in the whole group."
"Mh... you wish!" Enzo laughed, making me smile a little.
"Nice to meet you," I said, trying to be polite.
"Hi, I'm Harley," said a guy who looked really tired, like he'd just come from practice. He had messy brown hair.
"Keep your distance from my little sister, and don't make me rip your heads off. We clear?" Matteo said, his tone fierce. Enzo just nodded in agreement.
"Yeah..." Harley replied, trying to smile.
"Sure," Aaron said with a grin.
