Vincenzo Romano

I was at one of my nightclubs, making sure everything was running smoothly. After stepping into my office, I received a phone call from Matteo.

"Sorry to interrupt," Matteo began, sounding a little nervous, "I just wanted to ask if we could take Lissy with us. After practice, me and the boys are going to grab some fast food. Lissy would love to join, and her friend Viola, Harley's sister, would come too."

I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "You want to do what?"

"I want to—" Matteo started, but I cut him off.

"Give your phone to Lissy." I spoke firmly, not hiding my irritation.

"But..." he began again, and I interrupted.

"I said, give your phone to Lissy," I repeated in a lower tone, not wanting to hear more excuses.

"Okay, don't be too harsh on her," he added before handing the phone over. I could hear the shuffling noises in the background as he passed it to her.

"Vincenzo..." Lissy's sweet voice came through, shy yet excited.

"Hey, sweetheart. Matteo said you guys were heading out for some food after practice. Do you want to go with them?" I asked, closing my eyes briefly, trying to suppress the anxiety creeping in. She's my little sister, and her safety is everything to me.

"I would love to go. We'll head home after, I promise I'll stay with the twins the whole time," she said, reassuring me.

Her words were enough to calm me down. "Okay, you can go. Just message me when you get there," I said, but I couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy.

"I will. Thanks, Vincenzo!" Lissy replied, excitement in her voice.

"Bye, sweetheart," I said, ending the call.

I placed my phone down on the desk and leaned back in my chair, just as one of my men walked in. He had a smile on his face, but I wasn't in the mood for small talk.

"Girlfriend?" he asked casually.

"No," I said harshly, irritation rising. "My little sister."

He wasn't one of the brightest men, but he had been around long enough to know better than to pry into my personal life. "Oh," he said, clearly caught off guard. "I'm glad I don't have a sister."

"Why's that?" I asked, meeting his gaze with a raised eyebrow.

"I just don't get them. All the problems. I guess that's why she called, right?" he said, flashing a grin.

He was definitely crossing a line.

"I called her," I said with a sharp glare, watching as his smile faltered.

"Oh, I didn't know..." he muttered, backing off slightly. "What did you want?"

I folded my arms, annoyed at the interruption. "What's going on?"

"Don Federico is here," he said, his expression turning serious.

My heart skipped a beat. "What are you talking about?"
