I hated the movie. The shark ate everyone. By the middle of it, only two people were alive out of eight.

And just before the movie ended, the shark got them too. It was so dumb.

"It didn't even make any sense. They were almost out of the water! What was the point of this movie if no one survives?" I asked angrily as I turned to Matteo.

"The movie was good if you're angry by the end of it," Matteo said, pinching my cheek.

I swatted his hand away. "It was pointless, so absurd," I said, putting my head in my hands.

"Come on, Lissy," Matteo said, standing up.

"I don't want to swim. What if there's a shark in the pool?" I raised my eyebrows, looking worried.

"It was just a movie. Sharks aren't like that in real life. They mostly attack when they're confused or curious," Matteo said, helping me up.

"If one accidentally ends up in our pool, I think it'll be pretty confused. I don't want to be eaten by it," I said, nervously biting my nails.

"You're too funny. Come on," he said, and I picked up Jax, who trotted beside me.

"I have to find my swimsuit, and I don't know where it is," I said, shrugging.

"It's not good to lie. Go upstairs and change into your swimsuit. I'll wait for you here," Matteo said. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Don't roll your eyes at me," he teased, and I chuckled.

I was still worried about swimming. I didn't want to drown or look stupid. I set Jax down, and he trotted after me as I walked into my room to search for my swimsuit. Honestly, I just wanted to throw it out the window.

I changed into the swimsuit and threw on an oversized hoodie that almost reached my knees. Still in my pink fuzzy socks, I walked downstairs, Jax following behind me.

"I found these, so you won't drown. But I'm not sure if they'll fit your arms," Matteo said, holding up some water wings. He was already in his swimming trunks.

"Are you kidding me? Those are for kids!" I chuckled.

"Yeah, I know. Dad bought them for me when I was little, but I never got the chance to use them. Come here," he said. I walked over, biting my nails nervously.

"I'm so sorry about your knee. The bruise is huge. I didn't mean to..." he started, but I shook my head and pressed my hand over his mouth.

"Shush," I said with a chuckle.

We walked outside to the pool, and Jax was running around, chasing his own tail.

"Give me your arm," Matteo said. I hesitated.

He tried to put the water wings on me, but my arm was too big for them. He threw them onto the grass next to the pool.

"Shit, okay, then I'll just hold you the whole time," Matteo said, winking at me.

"I don't want to swim," I said, looking at the pool.
