I didn't dare to ask him anything else. I'll find everything out myself.

"I'll be in my office. I have some things I need to finish. Come downstairs when you're ready," he said, kissing my forehead before walking out of my room.

"Okay," I replied, offering a small smile.

Jax was licking my face, then started to whimper as if trying to tell me something.

"Okay, boy... okay... let's get you some treats," I said, kissing his paw.

I stood up, placing Jax on the floor, and as I headed toward the door, he followed with his tiny legs. At the stairs, I picked him up. His legs were too short to manage on his own.

Once downstairs, I put him back on the floor, and he licked my hand.

We walked through the massive mansion, Jax running behind me, and entered the kitchen where I saw Domenico sitting on one of the stools.

"Hi..." I said, a little awkwardly.

"Hey, sorellina," Domenico replied with a warm smile.

"Do you know where Santino put Jax's treats?" I asked, glancing around the kitchen.

"No, but you can ask him yourself. He's in Vincenzo's office, I think," Domenico said, looking at me and then at Jax.

"Okay," I said, turning to leave when he asked, "Can I get a hug?"

I smiled, turned back, and walked toward him. Wrapping my arms around him tightly, I felt him pull me close, kissing the top of my head several times.

"I love you, Lissy," Domenico said, running a hand through my hair.

It warmed my heart.

"I love you too, Domenico," I replied, hugging him even tighter.

"You're going to kill me, sorellina," he chuckled.

"You think?" I teased, squeezing him with all the strength I had. He gently pushed me away and looked at me, his expression playful, wearing an unbuttoned white shirt with a knowing smirk.

I couldn't resist. I tickled his stomach but felt nothing but hard muscle.

"What are you trying to do?" he laughed.

"You're a little slow. I'm trying to tickle you," I said, grinning.

"Stop, Lissy!" he laughed harder.

"No," I shot back, tickling his stomach and armpits, his weak spots. He laughed uncontrollably, finally grabbing my arms to stop me.

"What?" I asked, frowning.

"That wasn't nice," he said, still holding my arms.

"You aren't nice," I teased, struggling to free myself.

"Lissy," he said with a smile, shaking his head.

"I'll tell everyone your weak spots... unless you let me go," I warned, winking.

"You little witch," he laughed, finally letting go.
