"Your brothers hired a bodyguard for you?" Cole asked, clearly surprised.

"Yeah, I know it's not cool, but..." I started before Cole interrupted me.

"I would love for my little sister to have a bodyguard," he said with excitement.

"Sure... she's already tired of you," Vi teased, laughing.

"How old is she?" I asked, looking at Cole.

"Mia's eleven," Cole said, resting his head in his hands.

"A boy from her class asked her out on a date," Vi added with a smile.

"No way... that's so cool," I said excitedly.

"Cool? It's dumb. He's dumb," Cole spat out, clearly annoyed.

Another overprotective brother... they're all the same!

"Cole, chill out. She's a smart girl—you have to trust her," Vi said, clapping him on the shoulder to reassure him.

"I trust her. I don't trust him," Cole replied, trying to act harsh but failing to hide how concerned he was for his little sister.

And suddenly, I understood my brothers a little better. They're just trying to care for me and protect me.

"Where's the date going to be?" Vi asked curiously.

"The cinema. He's so dumb..." Cole muttered, pretending to gag.

"Cole, that's a good place for her first date," I said, smiling at him.

"Yeah, better than my first date," Vi laughed, clearly remembering something.

"How was your first date?" I asked, curious as I looked at her.

"I've never been on a date," I admitted after a moment, my cheeks heating up. I felt embarrassed—fourteen years old and no dates yet?

"You're lucky. I wish I'd waited longer for my first date—maybe it wouldn't have turned out so badly," Vi said, laughing.

"What happened on that date?" Cole asked, curious.

Vi gave him a deadpan look, clearly unimpressed by his interest.

"What? I need to know what could happen to Mia," Cole explained, clearly serious.

Cole was so overprotective of Mia. From what I'd heard, their sibling bond was incredibly strong.

"If Mia gets to go on that date, it depends on you right now, Vi," I joked, smiling at her.

"It was awkward—I was twelve years old. He was just weird. Harley didn't let me go, but I snuck out anyway. When I finally met my first date, I felt uncomfortable, so I called Harley. He came as soon as I called. He was mad at me, but... he said he was proud that I called him," Vi explained, smiling awkwardly.

Cole's eyes widened as he took in her story.

"That's the moral of the story, Cole," I said, breaking the silence. "You need to support Mia so she won't be scared to call you if something goes wrong."
