Oh Lord, what have I done? John's thoughts were a rush as his eyes snapped open. He looked down at Lin's unconscious form in something akin to horror. He winced and clutched his chest as foreign feelings crashed through his chest. Feelings that weren't his. When he opens his eyes...what will he feel? I don't...I can't...He stumbled from the bed, hurriedly pulling on his top and hoodie before stumbling towards the door. His head was still heavy and spinning as he hurried down the hall. He felt weighed down, crushed. The whole world was pressing in around him. Worst of all was the intense second set of emotions running through his head. He couldn't think straight, and it terrified him. He covered his mouth as he stumbled into the elevator, desperately pressing for the ground floor. Air...I need air!

"John!" John looked up as the doors closed to see his alpha running towards him. I can't face him...Not when I feel like this...He bent over and clutched his head in the small metal box. He was so confused. He could feel his own fear and guilt mingling with Lin's confusion and worry, as well as his hurt and desire. As soon as the doors opened, he was running out into the street. He was afraid, desperately afraid. What if he doesn't feel the same about me? What if he does?

Usually, he knew this area, but at that particular moment, he didn't know where he was. The city roared in his ears and he almost doubled over. Everything felt more sensitive, especially his sense of smell. He was lost in a sea of unfamiliar alphas and betas, with the occasional sweet hint of omega. He stumbled off the main street and into an alleyway, almost falling a few times as he staggered further away from the bustling street. Terror rose in his chest as a second set of feet pounded the concrete behind him.

"John, stop!" He felt his legs tangle as his body and mind fought over what to do. His body wanted to obey Lin, while his mind wanted to run as far as possible. The result was his body slamming hard into the concrete. He pushed himself up with a whimper, managing a few more stumbled steps before a strong hand grabbed his arm and pulled. He grunted as his back hit the wall, curling against Lin's chest as he cradled him against the rough stone. "Why did you run?" A crushing wave of hurt and worry washing through John's vulnerable body, making him tremble.

"Koujo...I-can't...It's-too-much!" John cried as he clutched his head, watching Lin's brow pinch at the intensity of his distress. Lin surprised him as he captured his lips in a heated kiss, gentle hands stroking and caressing his body in soothing circles. He felt like he was going to pass out again. He gripped Lin's shirt as he tightened his hold. "Noise...smells...bright..." John whimpered as he tried to bury his head further into Lin's shoulder.

"Don't be afraid...I'm here." Lin felt John's body stiffen before relaxing at his words. He breathed in John's sweet scent, unsurprised to find it much stronger than usual. His heat was imminent. That's why his sensory intake had increased. Their newly formed bond hadn't even settled and his heat was intensifying everything further. John whimpered with desire as Lin pressed their foreheads together. His skin was already hot. His heat could start at any moment. "Quickly, we need to get home." Lin tugged John after him to the main street, placing a hand over his mouth to quiet the screech of distress as the noise pressed in.

"Jo...help..." John wasn't sure what his alpha could do at this point. Lin pulled him closer and leaned down, burying his tearful face in the crook of his now marked shoulder. John's eyes widened as he picked up their mingling scents. It was a familiar, reassuring smell, and Lin's presence started to ground him. He gripped his blazer tightly and leaned in closer, closing his eyes tightly against the bright morning light. Why did I ever want to run from this? A sense of contentment and security washed over him as he nuzzled closer.

Lin hailed a taxi, the driver understanding the situation as soon as he caught John's scent. Lin gave his address and buckled himself in beside John. He sat by the door with John curled up against his side in the middle seat. The drive was taking too long. Despite keeping his face buried in Lin's shoulder, John was picking up too many other scents. It was making his head pound. He whimpered miserably, enjoying Lin's cool touch as he fingered through his hair.
