LILITH has lost her humanity, given into the darkness and has become something that cannot be controlled. She has a growing need for revenge, and will do whatever it takes to makes sure Athena suffers just as much, or possibly even more than she did.
HER family try and get her to see sense and step away from the darkness, but it soon becomes evident that there may be nothing they can do to save her.
SURE, she had her memories back but none of them are strong enough to bring her back to the light. She stays in the darkness, embracing her new found Dark One title. The people of Storybrooke begin to fear her. The heroes stop helping her and those that stay by her side begin to lose hope they'll ever be able to save her from the darkness.
ATHENA AND LILITH want each other dead and the only way the war between them ends is in death; and there's nothing anyone can do to stop that from happening.
