CHAPTER TWENTY "A Greater Threat"
Lorelai sat alone on the couch at the Charming's apartment watching Lily and Regina as they sat on the bed talking. She could tell her mother was hiding how hurt she was over Killian's betrayal. Lily always managed to hide her emotions well, but Lorelai knew how she felt.
Evander walked over holding a bracelet in his hand. "Here." He said, holding it out to her. "I think it was Adrienne's."
"Why do you have that?" Lorelai asked.
"I...I don't know. I found it in my bag. She must've given it to me before we split up." He answered.
Lorelai reached up and took it.
"Mama! No!" Fallon yelled out.
"Get out of here, Fallon!" Adrienne yelled back
A piercing scream quickly followed...
...and Lorelai gasped as she dropped the bracelet out of shock. Evander frowned and Lily looked up. Lorelai stared down at the bracelet with tears in her eyes. "That isn't Adrienne's. It belongs to her daughter." She said quietly.
"What would Adrienne's daughter want with the trigger?" Evander asked.
NEVERLAND PAST, SIX MONTHS AGO
"I don't understand why I have to go." Fallon said as she looked at her mother. "Why can't you go?"
"Because I'm trapped here and the key to my escape is in that town." Adrienne replied.
Fallon sighed heavily. After things ended badly between her parents, Fallon fled with her mother and the two lived on edge of Neverland. It was the only part where Fallon's father wouldn't come looking for them. Not that he was going to come looking for a fight with somebody as powerful as Adrienne.
Fallon sighed. "But what about this trigger? Why destroy the town when the kid is the only thing you need?"
"That is Renai's business. If taking that trigger and destroying the town is what it takes for her to help us, you'll do that." Adrienne held out a small white bean to Fallon. "This will take you to where you need to go. Find Renai."
"Of course...but I thought you were happy with it just being the two of us." Fallon said.
"I am, my sweet girl, but it's time that I reunite with my mother, brother and sister." Adrienne smiled. "Be a good little girl and do this for me."
