The thought of seeing her son again, the things he said to her in his dream. They were all things that had been playing on repeat in her mind ever since. She sat on the living room floor with her back resting against the sofa, while her concentration rested on the dancing flames in the fireplace.

"This may be the most peaceful I've ever seen you." Regina said with a small smile as she sat down next to her wife. She handed one of the two wine glasses she held over to Lily, frowning slightly when she finally saw the torment in her eyes. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"Just..." Lily sighed. "A lot."

Regina's frown became more defined. A lot. She knew things were still difficult, she knew things would never be the same after losing Evander; but she also thought that things were starting to get better. However, when she put more thought into it, how could things get better? Between Lorelai's premonition, everything that was going on with Lilith and the unsettling feeling she had been living with, she was just lying to herself when she said it would get better.

For a short while, only the gentle flickering of the fire could be heard. Lily stared down at the wine glass in her hands, debating whether or not she should tell Regina the truth and reveal everything to her. She wouldn't love you was what Lily always told herself whenever she considered opening up to Regina. How could anyone truly love somebody as broken as she was?

She finally looked up to meet Regina's eyes and did her best to put on a brave face, but even she could tell it wasn't all that convincing. "You don't need to worry about me." She said

"You do realise that saying that makes me worry more, right?" Regina questioned. She had attempted to push Lily to open up to her in the past, but nothing had ever come from it. She didn't care about what happened or what Lily did, she wanted to know so that she could help her.

"If I tell you about my past, you'd love me less and you'd leave. Just like everyone else has at one point or another." Lily said, her voice was low and soft and would break slightly with every other word. She wanted to tell her, she really did but she was terrified of the consequences.

She hated how vulnerable she was making herself feel. She was a Dark One for crying out loud. She was a Dark One that was immune to the power of her dagger, there wasn't another like her. She should be all powerful and have everyone cowering from her in fear; and yet here she was, ready to burst into tears any minute because her wife cares about her.
