CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
"Witch Fight"

STORYBROOKE
PRESENT DAY

Mourners gathered in Storybrooke cemetery to attend Neal's funeral. Everyone that knew Neal well were gathered around closely, but Lily kept her distance. Sure, she had gotten to know Neal a little bit in the time she spent with him, but she didn't feel like she knew him well enough to be at his funeral. She had to be honest, if it wasn't for Fallon, she doubted she would've even gone. But she also had a feeling that Regina would've dragged her there anyway.

Stepping forward, Killian picked up a shovel and scooped up some soil. He took a few more steps towards Neal's grave and sighed quietly before putting the soil on top of the coffin. Regina, David and Belle all follow his example. Even Henry managed to follow suit with some encouragement from Emma.

Fallon pulled the sleeves of her coat down slightly and wiped the tears falling from her eyes. Noticing this, Lily walked over to her granddaughter and put her arm around the young girl's shoulders. Fallon's blue eyes looked up and met her grandmother's, she gave her a weak smile before resting her head on Lily's shoulder.

Death was nothing new to Fallon, but the death and burial of somebody she cared about was. Sure, she saw her father die but they were never close. Like ever. Pan could've said he cared about Fallon every single day, but she never would've believed him. She had no purpose for her father, and therefore, he had no need to care about her. All Pan ever wanted was power, and there was never any doubt that he would've killed his own children to get it.

At the farmhouse, Gold sat in his cage with grief written all over his face. His son, his only child, was dead and he couldn't even go to the funeral. He heard somebody approaching and already knew exactly who it was, and it caused anger to run through his veins.

"You've spent so long figuring out how to get to this land, groomed Regina to cast your curse, spent twenty-eight years waiting for it to be broken, all that so you can be with your son. Now, he's gone." Zelena chuckled. "Tell me, Rumple, was he really worth all of that?"

"Every bit of it." Rumple said as he looked up at his red headed enemy. "He was family. Something you know nothing about."

After the funeral service, everyone had gathered at Granny's Diner. Emma angrily threw darts at the dart board while Henry sat in a booth with Lorelai for company. "Did you know my dad?" The boy asked.

"Not as well as I would've liked." Lorelai admitted. "But from what I learned about him from those that did and obviously himself, he was a good guy. He loved you very much."
