CHAPTER FOUR
"Pongo's Memory"

Regina sat in an interrogation room at Storybrooke Sheriff's station, tapping her fingers on the table in front of her. The sound of her nails hitting the steel top table was the only found in the room; other than the ticking of the clock which was slowly driving her insane. She was getting inpatient and was confused as to why she was even in the room in the first place.

After a few more minutes, Emma and David walked into the room and sat at the other side of the table. "I'm glad to see the sheriff's station is now a family run business." Regina said. "Now, tell me, why am I here?"

"You know why you're here, Regina." Emma said. "You're here because of Archie."

"Archie?" Regina raised an eyebrow. "Since when was it against the law to get into an argument with somebody?"

"Since you went into his office last night and killed him." David said.

"Archie's dead?" A mixed look of shock and confusion spread over Regina's face.

"Stop pretending like you don't know, Regina." David said. "Lilith saw you going into his office last night."

"Lilith?" Regina questioned, then it hit her. She remembered meeting the witch the day before at the docks. "That bitch!" She scoffed. "She's lying. I was at home all evening. After everything I've done to change, to win Henry back, why would I throw it all away now? And even if I did kill Archie, you would never know. The fact that you found his body and caught me shows sloppiness."

"You've been caught before, Regina." David said before turning to face his daughter. "Who do you think is lying here, Emma?"

Emma didn't say anything, she just continued to look at Regina as she studied the evil queen's face.

"She's incapable of change, no matter how many times we've given her the chance." David said. "Why should this time be any different?"

"We need to talk outside the room." Emma said before standing up and leaving the room with David following her. Mary Margaret, who was sitting at a desk, quickly stood up as her husband and daughter walked over to her. "So, what are you going to do with her?" She asked.

"Lock her up." David said.

"We can't lock her up, David." Emma said. "She didn't do it."

David looked at her in disbelief and asked, "you actually believe her?"

The blonde turned to look at him. "I watched her when we told her Archie was dead. She didn't know."

"Emma, I know you want to believe that Regina can change for Henry but-" Mary Margaret began but Emma quickly cut her off.
