CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO
"The Ghost Who Is Still Alive"

Lily nervously twisted her wedding ring around her finger as she stood outside of the bedroom her daughter's shared. She had gone over the apology speech in her head a thousand times, but she was sure she was about to forget something. She hadn't seen Lorelai since was rushed into the hospital...after she accidentally almost killed her.

Her heart raced as she raised her hand and knocked on the white wood. The door opened and Lily nervously smiled when she saw Lorelai standing on the other side. For a couple of minutes, neither of them said anything. "I'm sorry for what I did to you." She said, her voice breaking ever so slightly as if she was about at any moment. "I never meant to hurt you, I never wanted to. I was trying to hurt Athena but she..."

A single tear rolled down Lily's cheek but she quickly wiped it away before continuing; "I understand if you're not ready to forgive me for hurting you, honestly I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to-"

"I'm not mad at you, Mother." Lorelai spoke softly. "What happened that day was Athena's fault, not yours." She led her mother into the room and they sat next to each other on the edge of the bed. "I have never been upset with you or angry with you over anything that's happened since we lost Evander...if we lost him."

"N-No, we definitely lost him. I watched it happen." Lily frowned. "W-Why would you say if we lost him?"

"Regina didn't tell you?" Lorelai asked.

"Tell me what, Lorelai?"

Lorelai sighed. "I had a premonition on the night I was released from the hospital. I walked into the woods, to the spot where Evander...lost his life and um, I saw you. You were sad for a moment but then you were in pain and I held a dagger in my hand. I didn't hurt you but it looked like I did. I heard his voice and when I turned around, he was standing there. He shot an arrow at me but Regina woke me up before it hit me."

She continued, "You died and he was alive. I don't know how or when any of this is going to happen, if it does. But it felt so real..."

Lily shook her head. "No." She said as she stood up. "There's no way there's even a possibility he's alive. He had his heart ripped out of his chest and crushed. It turned to dust and he died. I know you can see things, but this...this one isn't real."

Fallon sighed quietly as she sat behind the counter at the pawn shop, looking down at the ledger. Her brother had been attempting to teach her how it all worked, but she didn't get it; and to be honest, she didn't really care but she was pretending to care so she could spend more time with her brother.
