CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO "That Bloody Crocodile"
Fallon twirled a twig around her fingers as she walked through the woods with Henry. He had asked for her help in searching for Emma after she ran away from the Sheriff's station. The boy was all Fallon had left of her nephew, so she wasn't going to turn down any bonding opportunity with him. She had been feeling so conflicted lately about her relationship with her brother. He was lying to Belle, he was lying to everyone; and she just stood by and let him get away with it.
She was in no position to go up against him and she knew that. While she was a witch herself, her powers were no match for her brothers. If they were to ever get into a fight, she was sure she would lose.
"Look." Henry's voice brought Fallon out of her thoughts. "Mom's car. It's right over there."
Fallon threw the twig to the ground as she approached the yellow bug with Henry. "Mom?" The boy called out to her.
"Henry, what are you doing here?" Emma asked after getting out of her car.
"We've been out all night looking for you." Henry replied.
Fallon added, "everyone has."
"I told them all to stay away. I can't control my powers right now." Emma said. "Listen, don't worry about me. I'm gonna find a way to fix this, but until I do...you have to go. Both of you."
"No. You always think that pulling away from people will fix your problems, but it never does. I can help you." Henry said. He began to step forward and reached out to Emma, despite her warning him to stay back. The boy touched his mother's arm and she lost control of her powers, sending him flying backwards.
Fallon gasped. "Henry!" She rushed to her nephew's side and helped him back onto his feet. "You're hurt." She said
"Henry! Henry, are you okay?" Emma asked.
"Yeah, I'm...I'm fine." Henry replied.
Emma's eyes widened when she noticed the cut on Henry's head. "Is that a cut? Henry, what did I do?"
"I-It's fine. I'm okay." Henry said.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Once she had made sure Henry was okay, Fallon stepped forward and tried to reassure Emma and convince her to go back into town, but the closer she got, the more unstable Emma's powers became. "Emma..."
