CHAPTER EIGHT
"As Your Enemy"

It had been a while since Lily was able to use her powers to harm others. She was one of the very few that wasn't affected by the dark curse. For the most part she was all alone; and those that were with her, she wouldn't dream of hurting. This left her without anyone to "practice" her magic on. So, being able to hold Belle frozen to the spot was a bit of a thrill for her.

Eventually, she released her magical grip on Belle and let the brunette drop to the floor. But that wasn't before she made the gun fly into the hand she held the shawl with. "Please, just let me have the shawl." Belle begged. "He needs it to find his son."

"What makes you think his son wants to be found?" Lily asked.

Killian's voice could be heard as he entered room and stood next to his sister. She couldn't put her finger on why, but seeing the Jones twins standing next to each other, sent a shiver down Belle's spin.

"We're doing that boy a favour by keeping the crocodile from finding him." Killian said.

"Haven't you hurt Rumple enough?!" Belle exclaimed.

"Oh, I've hurt him?" Killian laughed.

"You stole his wife." Belle said.

"Tell me something, love." Killian said as he stepped closer to her. "If a woman comes to you and begs you to take her away, is that theft?"

"Why would she leave him?" Belle asked.

"Because he was a coward." Killian replied. "And because she loved me. The only reason I didn't have my sister burn this shawl, is because she made it."

"I'm sorry she died, but vengeance won't bring her back." Belle said. "Vengeance is not the answer."

The pirate shook his head. "You said died like it was some kind of accident. Is that what he told you?"

"He never told me how she died." Belle informed him.

"No, of course not." Killian chuckled in a bitter tone. "He killed her. He ripped her heart out and crushed it right in front of me."

Lily watched her brother carefully as he spoke about Milah; and while Belle didn't seem to pick up on it, Lily did. She noticed the mixed look of anger and sadness in her brother's eyes and the pain in his voice when she described how his ex-lover had died.

"That bastard will do anything to hold on to his power." Killian said. "Anyone who has ever gotten close to him has either run away or been killed by him. What makes you think you're any different? Why would you fight for a man like that?"
