CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN
" Rocky Road "

STORYBROOKE
PRESENT DAY

Adrienne couldn't figure out why she felt so upset over Robin Hood. They had been nothing more than friends, if that. Yet no matter what she did, she couldn't get the thief out of her mind. She couldn't remember the last time she felt like that about someone. She had been walking down the street earlier that day, and saw Robin with his wife and son. She had give them all a small smile, but said nothing.

She spent most of her time avoiding everyone and kept her thoughts to herself. She was used to being alone thanks to the time she spent on Neverland. She avoided everyone but Fallon as much as she possibly could.

After her initial arrival in Storybrooke, Adrienne had slowly begun to convince herself that she would be able to call the small town home; but she was still struggling to make that a reality. Just as she thought she was getting the hang of it, a handsome blue eyed thief just had to catch her attention.

She was often sitting in Regina's vault with Henry's book and talking to the mirror to come up with a plan to find the author. That day she had been dragged to the diner with Regina, who had dumped a pile of comic books in her arms. Adrienne followed her step-mother into the diner and a small smile appeared on her face when she saw Henry.

"What are you guys doing here?" The boy asked.

"We just thought we'd surprise you with these." Adrienne said, setting the comics down in front of Henry. "Neither of us were sure about which ones you were reading, so we got a couple of different ones." She sat to Henry's left side while Regina sat on his right. Adrienne continued; "These aren't real like your Storybrooke, are they?"

Henry chuckled. "No, they're just stories. Like, actual stories; and they are so much better than this algebra work. You guys didn't have to bring these."

"Well, we wanted to." Regina said. "But don't get used to it."

The three of them all smiled as they picked up a comic each. Henry and Regina read them as they understood what was going on, but Adrienne had no clue and was more interested in the art style that was being used. It was like nothing she had seen before and couldn't decide if it was an art style she liked. She guessed it was okay but didn't get how young people were so obsessed with them.

"Isn't it funny how these are just ink and paper but everything in your story book is real? Makes you wonder who wrote it, doesn't it?" Regina questioned.
