CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
"Dreamshade"

Completely unaware of what was going on with Fallon and Henry, Lily and Regina walked with everyone else as they followed Killian through Neverland's jungle. Lily glared daggers into the back of Killian's head the entire time. Regina noticed that but kept her mouth closed.

"You know, instead of all this walking, Mom or Regina could've poofed us up there, right?" Evander said.

"Up where exactly?" Hook asked. "You have no idea what's up there or anywhere on this island. There are dangers all about. Only I can guide us past them."

Lily rolled her eyes as Emma agreed with him. If it weren't for Adrienne, Lily wouldn't be there. She would've stayed behind in Storybrooke. If she wasn't searching for her family, she never would've left the Enchanted Forest.

David raised his sword to cut down some thorns but Killian quickly stopped him. "I can handle a couple of thorns." David said.

"That's dreamshade. It's not the thorns you have to worry about. It's the poison they inject you with. This plant is the source of the toxins I used on the Dark One." Killian said.

"The poison that almost killed Gold?" Emma questioned.

"Indeed." Killian nodded his head. "I used a concentrated dose. In its natural form, death would be much slower and far more painful."

"Maybe I should use some on you." Lily said with a mix of sarcasm and seriousness in her voice. It earned a sarcastic smile in return from her brother.

David turned and walked the other way, Mary Margaret, Lorelai, Regina and Lily followed. "Your father is a rather distrustful fellow." Killian said, looking at Emma.

"He isn't used to working with bad guys." Emma said.

"Oh, I can assure you, on this island, I am not the bad guy." Killian said.

"Yeah, well, Pan isn't supposed to be one either." Emma said.

"What possibly gave you that idea?" Killian asked.

"Every story I ever heard as a child." Emma answered.

"Well, whoever told you those stories got it all wrong. Pan is the most treacherous villain I have ever faced." Killian said. "Tell me something, Swan. What was I like in these stories? Other than a villain. Handsome, I gather." He grinned
