CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN
"Maria, my love, I'm sorry
STORYBROOKE
PRESENT DAYOphelia sighed quietly as she watched Lily carve away at a tree branch with a knife. It was all the dark one did at night. She didn't need sleep, so she had to keep herself occupied doing other things so she wouldn't lose her mind. Carving stakes out of branches she would snap off Regina's trees and turning them into stakes was the hobby she picked up; much to Regina's annoyance. The mayor didn't care her wife was creating weapons, she cared that her precious trees were being abused for said weapons.
"I know you're there, Ophelia." Lily said, keeping her back turned to her grandmother. "You may be completely silent, but I heard you coming. I knew you were. I have nothing to offer you and no way of stopping what I'm going to do to your mother."
She raised the branch she was working on and blew off the excess saw dust before going back to work. "Your mother's worried about you, Lilith." Ophelia said.
"Let her worry. She'll get over it." Lily said.
"You won't stay this way forever, Lilith. We aren't going to stop until we have you back." Ophelia said.
Lily chuckled, almost out of spite, before she stood up and turned around to face her grandmother. "You don't need me back when I'm already here. This version of me is the best version of me. I've never been more powerful, never been so feared. The ability to not feel really brings out ones true potential, as you won't be able to fret about anything."
She smirked slightly. "You should give it a try, you might enjoy it."
"I did once. It wasn't until I heard you were born that I regained it." Ophelia said. Her voice was soft and quiet, her face had become one of upset. "I lost somebody I loved very much. My mother had taken my heart, taken control of me, and this person died by my hand. Her name was Maria."
ENCHANTED FOREST
PASTHearing her mother yelling had become an everyday occurrence for Ophelia. She'd usually be yelling at Adam about a variety of things - how much she hated him, the life she had to live and on the odd occasion, she'd even threaten his life.
Ophelia would often spend time with Valerie if she wasn't with her father. Athena had always been distant, so there wasn't much of a relationship there; and Athena's parents were just as distant. They were barely around, but there had been rumours that Athena had banned them from seeing her.
