It was one morning, and Jay, Erin, and Kimmy, were all on the couch, until the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!!" Jay stood up.

"Alright bubs." Erin cuddled up with Kimmy.

Jay walked to the door, and opened it.

The door revealed two military men in uniform, and guilt written all over his face.

"I'm Jay Halstead, what's happening?" Jay asked.

"Sir, It's best if we come in." The older man spoke.

Jay nodded, and opened the door further.

"Thank you." The two men smiled.

Jay nodded, and shut the door.

After a few minutes. Erin saw Jay with two military men, and her mind went to the worst scenario.

"T-This is my wife, Erin Lindsay, and My daughter, Kimberley Amelia Lindsay-Halstead." Jay listed out.

"Pleased to meet you." The officers smiled.

Kimmy and Erin smiled, and Erin held Kimmy in her arms.

"So, what do we owe this pleasure?" Jay asked.

"You might wanna sit down." The officer spoke.

"I-I'll stand." Jay nodded.

"Alright, Greg Gerwitz was found killed in his tent, by the Humvee, we did everything we can to save him, but we got there too late." The officer spoke with guilt in his voice.

Jay sat down, and tried stopping the tears forming, but they didn't.

"D-Does, his family know?" Jay sniffled.

"Angela and Griffin do know, yes." The other officer explained.

Jay nodded, and put his head in his hands.

"We are so very sorry." The officer spoke.

Erin sat down on the couch, trying to comfort Jay.

"W-We also found this under Greg's pillow." The officer handed Jay a locket.

Jay took the locket, and opened it.

The locket revealed two sides filled with pictures of Jay and Mouse.

"T-Thanks." Jay's voice quivered.

The officers nodded, and explained when Mouse's body will be back.

"Greg's body will be brought back tomorrow morning." The officer explained.

Jay and Erin nodded, and Jay sighed.

"We'll see ourselves out, look after your husband, he'll need you." The officer smiled.

Erin nodded, and said bye to the officers.

Erin turned back, and saw Jay sobbing his heart out.

"Baby, I'm so, so sorry." Erin took the glass out of Jay's hand.

Jay buried his head in Erin's neck, and sobbed.

"I got you babe, I got you." Erin stroked the back of Jay's head.

"W-Why did he have to d-die, h-he had so much left to live for!!" Jay sobbed out.

"I know he did baby, but when I caught you two fighting in the breakroom, I knew Mouse was adamant about going back to the army."

Jay nodded, then remembered someone signed Mouse off to Join the army.

"V-Voight, s-signed Mouse off..." Jay trailed off.
