🎵Do what you can with me
And do it quietly
As you do
As you do
As you do🎵

🎵Ashes, ashes, dust to dust
I think I found a place for us
It's down by garden
after dark
Its in my arms
Its in my arms🎵

At this point Lucy was all I could think of, I thought when she left that would be the end of me. Every day I mourned not being able to see her again, I clung to the memory of her voice, the conversations and hand holding we shared. But now she's back, and we're dating. I mean, my whole brain had to reboot.

That afternoon before our big case, we were all in the kitchen. George was talking about how he hardly needs to do any research for this case, Holly was refilling the salt tins, and Lucy was sat at the table doodling.
"It would be nice if you could help out, Luce." George said in a flat tone. As soon as me and George got back from that Type One case, George had been acting strange around Lucy. She glared down at the drawing on the table.

"Well considering you've just been stood gloating about how you don't have to do anything for our case tonight, I think it's pretty fair if I just sit here and doodle, thanks."
"George stop bragging, it doesn't look good on you. And Lucy," Holly smiled, "Good job."
"Thanks." They gave each other that supportive sister smile they kept giving each other recently. At least they were getting along.
"Uh-" George gestured at Lucy then at Holly and stared at me.
"What?" I shrugged, I was leaning against the counter, stirring the milk in with the tea.

"So you're just gonna let this happen?"
"For gods sake." Lucy stood up. "Lockwood and I will pack the bags, happy now George?"
"Already done." Holly smiled, Lucy gave her a glare. I was expecting her to slump back in her seat but instead Holly smiled and looked at me.
"Well I suppose you could always restock it, I know you like double checking anyway, Lucy."
"But I thought I was on tea duty?" What was going on between Lucy and Holly?

"Everyone knows your teas are extremely sugarless."
"Well I put sugar in them this time." I said defensively.
"Lockwood, we all know George's are just better. Now hurry up we only got a few hours." With that Lucy disappeared down the basement steps.

When I followed her down there the kit bags lay on our desks, all packed and zipped up.
"Luce?" I looked around, then hands came round me, and twisted me round to face her. My eyes couldn't even register she had been behind me, because as soon as she flipped me round she had kissed me. She was smiling wide against my lips, I smiled back.
She was tugging my tie, loosening it, and with one hand on my chest, she guided me back against the desks. I felt the back of my legs hit the end of the desk. The whole time our lips hadn't departed. I pulled away to get a breath.

"What was all that smiling and glaring stuff with Hol upstairs?" I asked, breathless, Lucy's hair was in her face, and frizzy at the ends, her cheeks rosy and her eyes wide.
"Well I kinda," She said between small kisses on my lips, "She kinda knows we're dating," Another kiss, "And before we stared dating I had told her about you." She pulled away fully.
I gasped, "Oh? Lucy Carlyle, are you telling me you had a crush on me?" She laughed and covered my mouth.
"Shhh it's supposed to be a secret." We both laughed. She was a goddess, I never ever wanted to be separated from her again.

"Guys? Are you almost done? I'm staying at the top of the stairs, just incase." George's voice called out from the top of the basement stairs. Lucy rolled her eyes.
I decided to not ask what was wrong with her and George, afraid I would ruin this moment.
"Hey I uh, don't think I'm really ready for.. kisses in front of them." Lucy gestured upstairs. I nodded.
"Of course, I know George will just make a big scene anyway." Lucy's fingers crept back to my tie, tugging it again but this time she straightened it out.
