Cassie laid in her bed as she stared at the ceiling above her. She kept thinking what Bianca had told her mother when they visited the day before. She couldn't get it out of her mind.

"Come back another day. I'll do more research on what's happening to you," Bianca said, not bothering to walk them out.

Just as they were walking out the back room, Biance stopped them.

"Not you, Katherine," she said, glancing over her shoulder. "I need to talk to you. Privately."

Katherine nodded, wondering why Bianca needed to talk to her privately. "Go wait outside for me, okay?"

Cassie nodded before leaving.

"What is it, Bianca?" Katherine asked, turning to her.

Bianca turned to face Katherine. "I think you know what's happening to her, Katherine."

She furrowed her brows, confused. "I don't. That's why I called you."

"Somehow, I don't find that believable," Bianca retorted. "Tell me. When you resurrected her, did you sacrifice someone in order to do so?"

Panic arose in Katherine. "What? Of course, I did. Why wouldn't I have?"

Bianca scoffed in disbelief. "Are you serious? I've known you for your whole life. Hell, I practically helped raise you, and you make a mistake this big? Unbelievable, Katherine. You're unbelievable."

"I-I don't know what you're talking about."

"Like hell!" Bianca said, raising her tone in volume. She stepped forward, getting threatening closer to Katherine. "You know damn well that your selfishness is the reason your daughter is suffering the consequences."

"Like I said, Bianca. I don't know what the hell you're talking about."

She turned to leave but stopped when Bianca started to speak again.

"Little piece of advice for you, Katherine. You did all of this so you could get your daughter back. Don't. Lose. Her. Again."

Katherine turned to her with watery eyes. She started to talk, but it was all blocked out by Cassie.

Tears fell from Cassie's eyes. But not tears of sadness. Tears of anger.

Cassie just wanted it to all go away. For it all to be over.

But she didn't know how to make it go away.

Why her? Why had all this had to happen to her?

She soon drifted away to sleep. One last tear slipping out of her eye and onto her soft pillow.

Cassie awoke in her room being filled with fog. She sighed in exasperation, silently scolding at herself in her mind for forgetting to start staying awake from now on.

She stepped off her bed. She looked around her, realizing that the light that always followed was even dimmer than last time.

"Hello, Cassie," the shadow greeted, getting her attention. "It's nice to see you again. Especially in this nice, new setting. What does Katherine do for a living?"

"Shut up," Cassie retorted. "I am done with whatever you're doing to me. So now, I'm gonna ask you some questions, and you're going to answer them honestly."

"And if I don't?"

She shrugged. "Simple. I'll kill myself, and you'll never get the chance to take over my body. And I know you don't want that to happen considering I'm what's keeping you alive. So just follow along and do what I say. Got it?"
