"You will never be able to protect her in the way you hope. No matter what, you are nothing to her..."
"Maiores meos invoco ut darem mihi potestatem resurgendi mortuos."
"No. No, please!"
"Cassandra Rose Margret Julia Williams, secundo casu vitae do tibi."
Katherine started to raise the dagger to her abdomen despite Prudence's screaming pleads to stop. She stared at the dagger; tears filling her eyes. Then, she closed her eyes before finally stabbing herself with the dagger.
"Please. Please don't leave me. I need you. Please."
"You're going to be okay."
Her hand went limp in Cassie's, and her breathing stopped. Her eyes laid open, but they were cold and dead.
"Mom? Mom?!"
She wanted to cry. She wanted to cry her eyes out until she felt like passing out.
"I'm right here, Cassie."
So, she did.
"I've always been here."
She lifted her head up from Katherine's shoulder and released what was supposed to be a sob.
"You're safe now."
But it wasn't a sob.
"Flower..."
It was a scream.
"Flower, wake up. Cassie. Wake up. Cassie-"
Cassie sat up in her bed, panting as a thin layer of sweat covered her body. She looked at her surroundings and sighed in relief once she realized she was in the loft.
She heard a small "meow" beside her and saw that it was Luna beside her.
"Hey, Lu," she said, petting the top of Luna's head. "You think the nightmares are gonna go away soon?" She meowed again before walking away and lying down on one of the pillows. Cassie sighed. "Gee, thanks."
She was slightly startled when she heard her phone starting to ring. She then calmed down and picked up her phone. She saw the caller ID and saw that it was Malia.
"Yeah?" she said, accepting the call.
"You said I could talk to you about anything if I needed your help, right?"
"Yeah, of course."
"And you're back in Beacon Hills?"
"Yeah... Mals, what's going on?"
"Just... meet me at the high school. I need your help."

Malia and Cassie sat on the bleachers by the lacrosse field in a slightly awkward silence.
Cassie fiddled with her fingers as faint whispers were heard in her head. She looked around anxiously to see if anyone was around them, but they were on their own.
"You reek of anxiety," Malia commented, turning to her with a deadpan look on her face.
"It's nothing," Cassie replied, wiping the sweat on the palm of her hands onto her joggers. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
"My mom. She's alive and in Beacon Hills," Malia said. "I want to kill her."
Cassie turned to her in surprise. "What?"
