"It's alright. Just focus on me"

It was a typical Friday night, and the gang had gathered at Cory's place for a movie night. The living room was dimly lit, and the scent of freshly popped popcorn wafted through the air. They settled onto the couch and chairs, ready for a night of laughter and entertainment.

As they debated which movie to watch, Shawn and Brooke found themselves sitting next to each other on the couch. Their fingers brushed when they reached for the same popcorn bowl, and they shared a small, knowing smile.

"What are we watching?" Lyla asked, as Eric placed his palm on her knee. "Well, something nice as the remote's hidden" Eric mumbled. "Huh?" His date asked confused.
"Dude! Hide the remote before Brooke puts some sad ass sappy movie!" Cory whined, yelling at Shawn, earning a glare from his twin.
"Gee, I wonder why, Cor. Do you have something interesting to watch?" Hearing the sarcastic comment, a smirk formed on Cory's lips.

"Of course I do" Cory rolled his eyes playfully as he looked at Brooke. Then breaking eye contact as he faced his audience "Alright, folks, I say we go with some high-octane horror tonight. Jump scares, blood, screams...you know, the works!" Cory said making hand gestures of opening screen television.

"Horror all the way, bro. Let's get some adrenaline pumping!" Eric said, sipping on his can of soda. "I'm with Eric. Horror movies are the best." Lyla batted her eyes making her date grin. "Aren't they babe?"

"I'm down for Horror. Remember, Cor? The summer of '95, home alone, boom boom cyclone" Shawn high fived Cory with a big smile as they looked at the remaining girls for validation.

"I mean I don't mind a good horror flick" Topanga shrugged.

"Guys..." A low, slow tone caught their attention. "Can we watch a romantic comedy?" The room fell silent  and then the groans and playful protests started, initiated by both her brothers.

"ABSOLUTELY THE F*CK NOT!!" Eric jeered.
"Man, Brooke, no!" Cory whined.
"Seriously, we're not watching that cranky bullsh*t!" Eric said.
"Horror would be nice, don't ya think, Brooke?" Lyla asked.

"Okay, that's enough" Shawn warned. "Cut her some slack. She just gave a suggestion" He said putting his arm around her shoulder. Eric, Cory and Topanga exchanged jestful glances at what Shawn just said.
"Ooh" Cory whistled.
"Already submissive, huh Shawn?" Topanga jokingly raised a brow making the couple both roll their eyes. "Oh my- stop it, you guys. He said nothing wrong" Brooke said, sticking her tongue out.

"I can trust the dude with you" Eric said, with furrowed brows and folded arms.

"Seriously, you guys are damn irritating" Shawn rolled his eyes.

"Let's watch a rom com" Shawn spoke. "Valentine's day was just a few days back anyway"

"Oh Shawny, I don't know where you're from but on planet Earth, we're starting April" Cory said sarcastically.
"Every day is a Valentine's day when your girl is this special" Shawn winked, making Brooke blush. "Awww Shawn!"
When she wasn't looking, he looked at Eric giving him a thumbs up, thanking him for the 'aww' trick.
"Works on every dang woman" Eric mouthed.

"Okay fine, we can watch horror." Brooke agreed, throwing her head up in defeat.
"I'll cover your eyes when it gets too bloody" Shawn chuckled, earning a light smack on his arm.
"I was eight!"

She folded her legs up on the couch, leaning on Shawn's body. She wrapped the blanket around both of them and rested her head on his chest.
"You comfy?" He whispered.
"Very" She replied.
"Good. Stay like that" He said pulling her closer.

(Shawn and Brooke)

With that settled, they compromised and chose a horror movie. As the movie started, Brooke tried to get into the spirit of things, but her reactions were quite different from the rest.

Every time there was a loud explosion or a violent scene, she would flinch and cover her eyes, seeing the realistic bloody CGI. Shawn noticed this and discreetly moved closer, draping his arm around her shoulders. He whispered words of comfort in her ear.

"Can you lower the volume?" Shawn looked at Eric who held the remote. Eric nodded and turned the volume down two notches.
"So helpful" Shawn muttered to himself, sarcastically.

"It's alright, I've got you. Just focus on me, not the zombies" He said, rubbing her shoulders.
"How do you guys watch this R-Rated crap?" Brooke shuddered, cringing.
"We can leave if you want" Shawn offered.
"No...I'm fine"

"Hey, lovebirds, can you keep it down? We're trying to watch death here!" Eric teased, making Topanga snicker. "Let them be, Eric. It's nice to see Romance isn't dead"
"Yeah unlike Clara" Cory scoffed, grabbing a handful of popcorn, laughing at his own remark about the movie character, making Topanga glare at him.

As the movie continued, the couple settled into a comfortable rhythm with Brooke occasionally peeking through her fingers. They watched the g0re unfold together, with Shawn providing the much-needed comfort whenever things got too intense.

Filler.

If you guys have any ideas/requests for more fluffy moments between Brooke and Shawn (that don't interrupt with the story I have planned), please feel to drop in the comments. Thanks for reading!
