"I'm glad we're stupid"

"Your dad keeps stepping outside. Is...is everything okay?" Brooke asked, concern etched on her face.
"You want the truth or can I pass it off as a lie?" Shawn replied, biting his bottom lip.

"I'd appreciate the truth"

"That's fair. Well the neighbors, they're giving him a hard time for interacting with people who live in homes that are built into the ground." He shrugged, casually, sipping his cola.
"That's awful." She sighed, eyeing the door.

"I suggested this whole thing it's- it's all my fault-"
"Hey...hey, it's not your fault. My neighbors have minds narrower than their homes. Besides I got to meet my girlfriend's parents. Isn't that great?" He comforted with a chuckle.
"I love you" She said with a small pout.

Shortly after, the door opens and Chet walks in.
"Well, it's been a lovely dinner. Thanks for coming' in, hopefully we'll do this next year again!" Chet announced loudly with a fake smile plastered on his face.
Shawn stood up from the chair. "Dad we haven't even had dinner yet"

"Of course we haven't. Our guests just arrived. But before dinner comes the small talk part of the evening. Y'all talk, We'll talk. Let's all talk" He awkwardly chuckled, dragging Virna and Shawn along with him outside the trailer.

"You. You did this to us!" Eric squeaked, frantically pointing at the twins.
"Now, Now, Eric let me handle this." Alan positioned himself between his kids, glaring at the middle ones.
"Cowboys, Red skins. That's a good game I'm missing. And next time, your tears aren't melting anything but your face!" Alan glared at Brooke, making her look down with a small pout.

Amy pushed him back slightly. "Alan...Alan let me talk to the kids.
"Look, Brooke, I know Shawn is your boyfriend-"
"And Cory's" Eric sarcastically grinned, feeling proud about himself for interrupting humourously, only to earn a glare from Amy, making his smile fade away.

"And Cory he is your best friend, I agree. But we never tried making friends with his parents" She explained.
"So what? Just because we have more things than them and because dad makes more money than Shawn's dad, we can't sit down for a peaceful dinner?" Cory scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"Son, you're gonna realize this sooner or later. But being right isn't enough to change the way people think"

"So what, you're just gonna kick my girlfriend's parents out?" Shawn scoffed at his dad, folding his arms.
"No. No 'course not, We ain't boutta kick them out. What we will do is hurry them along." Chet opened his mouth to speak again only to be interrupted by the door to the trailer opening.

"Helloo! What are y'all doing... hehe...out here. Where you can be seen" he said in awkward tone, attempting to sound enthusiastic as he sees Morgan and the twins step out.

"Oh...we're taking Morgan out to Herman's trailer." Brooke replied, pointing at Frankie's house.
"Good good...Shawny, why don't you go with them and show them how we locals like to...walk real low to the ground y'know-"

"I'm sorry" Shawn whispered to Brooke, giving her hand a light squeeze.
"I'm sorry too..." She sighed, pursing her lips into a thin line.
"Yeah you should be. This is all your fault" Cory said,

"Shut up Cory" Shawn and Brooke said in unison.

"So you're saying that if we knew better, we would've have been in a relationship?" Brooke asks him with big eyes, as she absent minded set up the plates.
"No...no we wouldn't have. Not if you didn't see me as Shawn. And if you saw me as Shawn, a hunter, lives in a trailer. Yeah, if you knew any better, you wouldn't have dated me. And if I knew any better, I wouldn't have even been friends with you, let alone date. I guess defying that makes us stupid" he smiled.

"Then I'm glad we're stupid" she grinned.
"I know, for once, the ignorance is working in my favor" he chuckled, pecking her cheek.

Brooke smiles for a second too long before turning her attention back to Herman and Frankie.
"You know, guys, things just got kind of...messy? Back at Shawn's trailer- Are you sure this is okay?"

"There's always room for more at our table. Essentially since you're so closely associated to my dearest" Herman smiled pointing at Morgan.
"Dude they're sisters" Shawn rolled his eyes.

"A thanksgiving tradition starts off with us going around the table and listing things we're thankful for." Frankie explained before any of them could start using their cutlery, and dig into the stuffing.
Stuffing. The small little thing that started all this.

"And then we eat?" Eric asked.
"Yes"
"Well I'm thankful for that" he cheered, earning a glare from Frankie. "Fine. I'm thankful that I get to celebrate Thanksgiving with my brother and my sisters. And my schoolmat- Friends. And that I'm taping the game"

"I'm thankful that I get to have a nice peaceful meal with this delicate beauty by my side" Herman sighed dreamingly, admiring Morgan.
"I'm thankful that I'm a delicate beauty" Morgan sassed.

"I'm thankful that we have this big group of people to have Thanksgiving dinner with us and that we have enough food to share around" Frankie smiled.

"I'm thankful that my parents taught me to love people for who they are. Even if they weren't lucky to be raised like that" Cory sighed.
"You and me both, Cor" Brooke smiled. "And I'm thankful because I am in the healthiest and happiest relationship I could dream of, and I have a perfect boyfriend." She said, squeezing Shawn's hand.

"I'm thankful I get to spend Thanksgiving with my best friend in the whole world...and my whole world." He paused to look at her in an eye. And thankful that I got a chance to love you." He gave Brooke a knowing smile.

"That was cheesy" She grinned.
"You liked it and you will repeat it in your head at night and kick your blanket and giggle" Shawn playfully rolled his eyes.
"Yea I will" Brooke shrugged.

"I feel about 2 inches tall" Alan said, looking at all the kids.
"That's 2 inches taller than I feel." Chet replied.
"They were right. We weren't. Alan I feel terrible" Amy complained.
"Let's join them and learn a thing or two from the kids" Chet suggested and they all walked over to the table.

"So should we do this again at Christmas?" Shawn whispered, gaining Brooke's attention.
"Oh honey no"
