Carmilla pov

Slamming the door to my office, I pant heavily before kicking the chair that rested in the middle of the room, disrupting my journey to my office. My hands travel to my temples as I sit down at my desk, leaning back on my chair as I stare up at the ceiling, completely taken aback by what just happened. I couldn't remember how it all happened but all I knew was that Kayla disappeared, and I know what she is like, I could see it in her eyes earlier, discreetly admiring jane. Kayla always had a thing for girls like her, me being the only masculine woman she was with, but I knew, I knew that she was seeing others. Granted, so was I, but at least we both knew that, she assumed I didn't. She deserved dying the way she did, taking advantage of Jane while she was vulnerable, and that crossed a line.

"감사합니다. 지금 누군가에게 보내도록 하겠습니다." I press send and I put my phone back into my pocket. The taste of nicotine tingles my throat as I continue to smoke my third cigarette this hour.

{ Translation: "Thank you, I will have someone send it over now" }

A gentle tap on the door is followed by Genevieve walking in, causing me to jump up in my seat slightly.

"Christian has sent his thanks," she says awkwardly as she takes a step forward. An amused chuckle leaves me as I remember what happened, having completely forgotten what just happened with Jane. I look at my sister, her lips urging to say something, her nails mentally dragging anticipated scratches on her pale skin. My arms fold on my abdomen, waiting for her to speak as I lean back in my chair, intrigued by what she was about to come out with. "I'm sorry for what happened, I shouldn't have questioned you like that." She finally says, her voice so genuine as she draws a sincere smile. "I don't want to fight with you," she confesses. I mirror her smile and slowly stand up, sighing before I walk towards her.

"I forgive you" is all that I can say as I reach her, my head spinning slightly from the alcohol in my system. An awkward silence wraps around us as she hopes I say something else, her wishes inutile. I'm not good with words.

"Oh, I wanted to ask - have you seen Kayla? She asked me for a hair curler a couple hours ago and now I can't find her anywhere," Genevieve asks, wishing to change the tension as she lifts up the curler in her hand. How did I not notice her holding it? I notice everything.

"Oh, she's dead. Jane's taking care of the body" I blurt out casually, as if I was talking about the weather. Genevieve's brows furrowed in confusion, unable to process what I just said.

"What-?"

"She is dead, you know? Kaput? мертвый?" I attempt to explain, even reenacting what I did to her by motioning an invisible knife piercing my stomach. What is she not understanding? I was quite clear.

{translation: dead}

"No, no, I know that-" she brushes off, although I know that deep inside, it troubles her. "The second part: Jane is taking care of the body?" she questions, more baffled that Jane was taking care of the corpse rather than the fact that I just killed a woman she knew.

"Yes, that's right. It's her fault she's dead so I made her clean up the mess" I justify. She looks at me, as if I'm not here. Like I'm unrecognizable. A stranger. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

A sigh leaves her chest, disappointment. Or at least that's what it feels like. Without another word, she turns away and speeds out of the room, not giving me the chance to process what she was doing. "Genevieve!" I shouted out, following her out of the office before she headed upstairs. Her footsteps are getting faster by the beat, my speed increasing along with hers. I speed up to reach her and grab her arm, pulling her body back as she is forced to face me. "No, you're not going up there '' I threaten, tightening the grip on her wrist. Her eyes displaying rage, she harshly pulls her arm back.

"You've taken this too far!" She exclaims, a slight crack in her voice as she stomps away. My footsteps treading after her, I feel the heat in my body rising. Her walk turns into a run, attempting to out-run me to the room. I sprint after my sister as our shoes echoed in the long corridor, the bedroom guards looking the other way once they see me. She's a fast one. Quickly approaching the room, she pulls out her key and within a flash, she's in the room, locking me out of it.

"Genevieve, open the door" I warned as I halted in front of the room, my keys being left behind on my desk. My forehead goes to lean on the frame, and I twist the handle violently, groaning as it twists back into place. It doesn't budge.

"Hey, shh it's okay, it's okay" I hear her whispers of comfort traveling through the walls, making my temper turn to fury. Why is she comforting her? She's in the wrong!

"I'm gonna say it one more time. Open the fucking door!" I warn, and anyone in their right mind knows not to test me. My patience is starting to run low. Nothing. No response back. I'm being completely ignored. "Okay." I state. If that's how they want to play this game, then let's play. I pull my gun out, shooting the handle.

Scraps of metal hit the floor as I pushed my shoulder against the door. My eyes meet with Genevieve's back to me, her body hovering over Jane, like I'm the villain here. I snickered at the drama that's in front of me.

"Carmilla, please leave" this time, Genevieve warns, her voice stern, yet unsure. I take a peek at the wrapped up body of Kayla. I'm impressed, she actually did it.

"You know I'm not going to do that gen." I say flatly. "And stop protecting her like that, I'm not going to hurt her" I utter as if it was obvious, my tone distracted by my admiration of her neat wrap. "Oh, and well done, jane. She's all ready for her little trip.'' I praised, using my leg to probe the body. "Kim Hyeon will take good care of her" I whisper out loud enough for the poor, young Jane to hear me.

A smothered sniffle grabs my attention back to Jane and Genevieve. I roll my eyes before letting out a whistled tune, falling tired of the drama unfolding in front of me. In an attempt to calm the tension, I bend down to the floor and slide my gun across the room. "See, I'm not going to do anything." I let out a little smile.

"Both of them, Carmilla" Genevieve mutters. I roll my eyes as I get out the gun hiding by my left hip. With the second gun crashing into the first one, I see Genevieve's grip loosen on jane.

"Jane, look at me, '' I ordered. Jane looks at Genevieve, almost as if she's asking if she should listen to me. "Don't look at her, look at me" I grit my teeth.

"Calm down and then she'll look at you" Genevieve tells me off. She can't be serious. I let out a frustrated groan.

"I am calm!" I lie, my palm rubbing against my face. I'm the furthest from calm. I'm furious. But I take a deep breath in and try again. "I am calm" I repeat, this time a little more gently. To my dismay, it worked. Jane looks up at me slowly, making Genevieve let go of her and proceeds to turn around to face me. She stands up, putting her arm out for Jane to help her up.

"Let's get you changed and we'll have something to eat after, okay?" She reassures. Genevieve's caring words enlighten envy in me. I can take care of her, why is she pretending like she cares about her? Jane nods carefully, her eyes shifting between me and my sister.

"I know a good place we can eat" I suggested, trying to get their attention back to me.

"Without you, Carmilla," Genevieve says coldly. I chuckle out in retaliation, genuinely impressed by Genevieve's new found bravery.

"Now you're being silly, Gen" I utter. Has she lost her mind? She must be if she thinks I would allow that to happen. "I'm coming with you or no one is going." I command, pulling out my car keys.
