The life we could have had- Pim Stones

Lizzie's POV.

On the way back to her house she talked about different things, she told me that she had new projects, she also asked me about her sponsors and I told her that she had nothing to worry about because my manager had already arranged that.

"I am thinking about firing my manager" she tells me.
"Well, I don't want to get into your business, so if you think it's best for you then do it" I told her with a small smile.
"I think it is, but it's hard to find a good manager who really cares and also cares about my job, you know? And it's also a lot of work to hire another person, interviewing each of them and all that."
"Yeah, I understand you, if you want I can talk to my manager and see if she can recommend someone good for you" I said.
"Yeah! That sounds great, I'll also talk to Kris so she can help too."
"Okay that's a plan"

We walked into his house and walked into his living room where a very worried Shawn was standing.

"Oh my god, where have you been? I was so worried about you" he says running over to hug her.
"Shawn what are you doing here? How did you get in?" She asks as the man walks away from her.
"Claudia let me in" he says referring to one of the cleaners.
"Oh" is all she says
"I've been calling you, why weren't you answering?"
"I left my phone here"
"Where were you?" The man says still not noticing my presence.
"I went for a walk and for an ice cream, just relax dude" she says simply.
"Oh so you're eating now?"
"I guess so" she says turning to look at me and that's when Shawn notices my presence and I could see her anger in her gaze at the sight of me.
"What is she doing here?" He says angrily quickly approaching me but Valentina made herself in the middle of the two of us preventing him from taking another step.
"Hey stop that now" she tells him with a firm tone.
"No, you stop this now, don't you see? This is what she has always wanted, she did this to us, because of her our baby is dead" he yells.
"Just shut the fuck up, this isn't her fault, my body wouldn't have been able to handle the pregnancy even if this shit hadn't happened" Valen yells back.
"I think I better go" I interject.
"Yeah leave" Shawn says.
"No, you're not going anywhere, you're staying with me" Valen says turning to look at me.
"Stop this joke for fuck sake, you can't prefer her over me, she wasn't there for you all these weeks when you were suffering and unbearable, I was there, day and night, I put up with every complaint, every scream, every time you treated me like shit, I did everything I could to have you back and yet you still prefer her" he yells at her and I could see a tear fall down her cheek.

What he said was true, I wasn't here, I didn't live the nightmare that those two have lived the past weeks, I wasn't here to wipe her tears, I wasn't here to support her, I just wasn't here.

"Shawn just get the hell out of my house" She says.
"It hurts doesn't it? It hurts to know the truth, it hurts to know that I've been the only one there for you" he pushes.
"That's not true" she sobs.
"Come on Valentina you're pathetic, no one else has been there, no one else feels the pain you're feeling like I do".
"Shawn please go away" she says without stopping sobbing.
"You will run to me when you realize how wrong you are to be with her, she doesn't love you."
"Get the fuck out of my house" She screams at him pushing him towards the exit.

Once Shawn was outside she closed the door collapsing on the floor in tears. I ran over sitting next to her and hugging her.

"He's an asshole" I said and she just nodded crying.
"Why won't this fucking nightmare end?"
"I'm sorry, I wish I could do more" I said stroking her hair softly.
"It's okay" she whispers burying her face in my neck.
"No, it's not okay, I'm sorry for not being there for you when you needed it most, I'm sorry for not showing you how much I love you, I'm sorry for letting myself lose you, I'm sorry for going crazy when I saw I was losing you and did the stupidest thing I ever did, I'm sorry for letting my fears get the better of me and not fighting hard enough for you, I'm sorry for not spending all my days telling you I love you" I said giving her a kiss on her head.

She just cried until her body could calm down, there we were both sitting on the floor of her house, her face buried in my neck, my hand caressing her head.

"Can you stay tonight?" She asked in the sweetest way.
"Is that what you want?" I asked and she nodded slowly "then I'm staying"
"Thank you" she whispered.

"I'm going to fix you dinner, is that okay?"
"That's better than okay."

We walked to the kitchen, I was dying to hold her hand but I didn't want to go overboard, I started making dinner, she looked calmer, she was telling me about this new music band she discovered, she was smiling as she was talking to me.

Once the food was done we sat down at the table, she took the first bite and sat down closing her eyes letting me know she liked it.

"Thank you for staying" she says.
"Of course" I said smiling at her.
"We're still friends right?" She asks looking me straight in the eyes.
All I wanted to tell her was that no, I want something more, I want to be more than her friend, but I know that what she needs right now is not that.
"Of course" I said with a little smile.
She nodded and gave me a half smile.

The rest of dinner consisted of her telling me about her parents and I listened attentively.

"My mom was always so elegant, she taught me too much about fashion, she also had this weird sense of humor, I think my sense of humor comes from her, I remember when she laughed too much her eyes would close and sometimes when I would tell her something funny she would cry from laughing" she shared.
"What about your dad?" I asked.
"He was the best dad in the world, he used to take me to all the malls I wanted and buy everything I asked for, I remember once I did something wrong and he punished me and his punishment was to take me to Paris, I would tell him dad this is the worst punishment you have ever given me and he would laugh knowing how much I was enjoying his punishment" she says with a giggle.
"Who used to scold you the most?" I asked her.
"My mom, but it was because I really deserved it, plus she and I had a very similar temperament so you know how that goes, but putting that aside my mom was like my best friend, we would gossip, we would go get our nails done together, we would shop together, we would do everything together" she says with a smile remembering it all.
"Your family sounds lovely."
"They would have loved you so much" she is sure.
"How do you know?"
"They loved everything that made me happy."
