Finding You, Part 8, Chapter 15
At the Quartermaine Hotel, Alexander and Genevieve entered, and she rested her head on his shoulder. "Genevieve," Alexander said, "I just miss you so much." "I know," Genevieve replied as he helped her sit down. "Don't you miss me?" she asked. "Yes, I do," Alexander answered. Genevieve's phone rang, and she answered it. "Genevieve Alcazar, yes, Mother. I'm having lunch with Alexander. If you want to join us," she said and hung up. "Sorry," Genevieve apologized. "That's okay. Will your mother join us?" Alexander asked. "Yes. Are you okay with that?" Genevieve inquired. "Yes, I think it's good you're trying with your mother," Alexander replied. "Yeah. Have you had any luck finding out who your mother is?" Genevieve asked as the waitress approached. "We're waiting for someone to join us, so just two iced teas for now," Alexander said. "Sure," the waitress responded and walked away. "I asked my grandmother, and right when she was about to tell me, Father came over and stopped it," Alexander explained. "I'm sorry. Did Nikolas mention anything about Courtney Matthews?" Genevieve asked. "Just that it's not her," Alexander replied. "I'm sorry. Maybe it's best to leave it alone," Genevieve suggested. "I don't know. Who is watching our dog?" Alexander asked. "I sent Princess to a doggie daycare," Genevieve said. "I'm sure your mother is glad you're here to help you through this," Alexander commented. "Just until Lila Rae comes home, then Mother will need her," Genevieve added as Skye approached. "Thanks for letting me join," Skye said. "You're welcome. We haven't ordered yet. How is Aunt Alexis?" Alexander asked. "Alexis is rested now. She tried," Skye answered. "I'm sure Alexis is overwhelmed—losing her long-lost daughter all over again," Genevieve said. "Yes, she is. I will help her," Skye said as the waitress arrived with their lunch.
"So, you and Alexis are now getting close," Genevieve asked, sensing something was off. "Yes. We both loved and lost Anastasia," Skye replied. "Yes, I guess it's good that you both have each other to help you," Genevieve remarked. "Yes," Skye responded as they ate. "When is the service?" Genevieve asked. "Saturday," Skye answered. "Mother, do you know any other woman besides Courtney Matthews whom Nikolas was with before Emily?" Genevieve inquired. "No, I'm sorry," Skye said. "It's okay. I guess I'm not meant to know who my mother is," Alexander added. "I'm sorry," Skye apologized. "Alexander, you can't give up," Genevieve urged. "Maybe I should," Alexander responded. "So, Genevieve, are you staying at your place?" Skye asked. "Yes, Mother. Why?" Genevieve inquired. "I was wondering if you'd like to stay with me. I don't want to be alone," Skye said. "What about Ric?" Genevieve asked. "Ric and I are not living together," Skye replied. "Just have fun," Genevieve said. "Genevieve, please. I haven't told your brother and sisters," Skye added. "I will keep quiet, but I think it's great," Genevieve responded. "Thank you. Will you stay with me?" Skye asked. "Yes, Mother. For this trip, I will," Genevieve agreed. "Thank you," Skye said. "I need to go. Genevieve, let's hang out tonight," Alexander suggested. "Sure," Genevieve responded as Lorenzo approached.
