Finding You, Part 8, Chapter 40 —
At the Docks — Ric was there, thinking he didn't like the idea of Skye dating both him and Lorenzo when Alexis came by. "Ric, are you okay?" Alexis asked. "Not really," Ric replied. "Did you and Skye get into a fight?" Alexis inquired. "You could say that. Skye wants to date both Lorenzo and me, and whoever she picks, we can't get upset," Ric explained. "Wow, what about sex?" Alexis asked. "No sex, just romance," Ric said. "Wow, and you don't like it?" Alexis questioned. "No, because I know Skye will pick Lorenzo," Ric replied. "You don't know that. Skye could pick you. Romance her," Alexis said. "I'm romance, aren't I?" Ric asked. "Yes, you were when we were married," Alexis responded. "Thanks. How are you doing?" Ric asked. "I'm trying to let the guilt go," Alexis said. "Good. It was an accident," Ric said. "I know. Thank you for the support," Alexis said. "You're welcome," Ric replied. "Skye's a fool if she doesn't pick you," Alexis said, kissed Ric on the cheek, and left. At the city — A restaurant — Lorenzo and Skye entered, and it was all empty. There were candles and roses on the tables. "Lorenzo, where is everyone?" Skye asked. "I rented the restaurant for us. The safe is here," Lorenzo said. "Oh, Lorenzo, this is so romantic," Skye said. "Thank you," Lorenzo replied. The waitress approached. "Sparkling non-alcoholic champagne," she said. "Thank you," Skye replied, took the glass, and Lorenzo helped her sit down. "I want to make a toast, Skye — to us. I know we will work things out," Lorenzo said. "Oh, Lorenzo," Skye said. The waitress also brought plates of food. "Lobster, a side salad, and rice," she said. "Thank you," Lorenzo replied. The waitress left. "So, Lorenzo, how much did all of this cost you?" Skye asked. "Every penny is worth it. You're worth it. I know when our children were little, we didn't have time for this, but now we do," Lorenzo said. "No, we didn't have time for us. I didn't have time for myself," Skye said. "I will make sure you do have time for your company," Lorenzo promised. "Thank you," Skye said. "How's the lobster?" Lorenzo asked. "Great," Skye replied. "Good, I hope you have room for dessert," Lorenzo said as the waitress brought a chocolate-covered strawberry. "Oh, chocolate-covered strawberry," Skye said. "Yes," Lorenzo said. He picked one up and fed Skye. "Lorenzo, all of this was so romantic," Skye said. "It's not over yet," Lorenzo said. A man with an orchestra appeared and started playing as Lorenzo rose. "Do you want to dance?" Lorenzo asked, offering his hand. "Yes," Skye replied, and they shared a dance. "Oh, Lorenzo, this was all so romantic," Skye said. "Good, I'm glad you liked it. I love you, Skye — and I know you love me. We have years and children together," Lorenzo said, pulling Skye into a passionate kiss. "No one can kiss you like I do," Lorenzo declared. "You're right about that. But I still need time," Skye replied. "I will win this, and I know you hope it's me you pick," Lorenzo said. "Are we done?" Skye asked. "Yes, here we are," Lorenzo said. They left. Outside was a horse-drawn carriage. "Oh, Lorenzo," Skye said. They got in the carriage. "Are you cold?" Lorenzo asked. "Yes," Skye said. Lorenzo pulled out a blanket, wrapped it around Skye, and pulled her close. "If you pick me, I promise to always put us first and bring back the romance," Lorenzo said. "Tonight was wonderful," Skye said. "Thank you, I'm glad you loved it," Lorenzo replied. Skye kissed Lorenzo. "I loved it," Skye said. "I knew you would. I promise to be more romantic," Lorenzo assured her. "I should go home," Skye said. "Sure," Lorenzo agreed.
