Finding You, Part 8, Chapter 47 — At Rae's House — Rae was home and worried about telling Skye when there was a knock on the door. It was Skye. "Come in," Rae said. "Mother, what is going on? I just ran into Daddy, and he told me you need me," Skye said. "I always need you, but more than ever. I just found out I have breast cancer," Rae replied. Skye was in shock. "So, what does the doctor say?" Skye asked. "Dr. Kelly wants to do a double mastectomy," Rae answered. "Alright, when?" Skye questioned. "I haven't decided yet," Rae said. "Mother, I know it's scary to lose your breast, but I want you here. I don't care if you don't have breasts," Skye said. "I know, but I need time," Rae responded. "Time? Do you really have time?" Skye asked. "Yes, it was caught early," Rae replied. "Mother, I can't lose you. We finally found each other and are in a good place. Please don't leave me," Skye said, crying, as Rae hugged her. "I know, baby," Rae said. "Whatever your decision, I will try to support you. I just want you here. Skylar is getting married—you need to be at her wedding," Skye said. "I want that too," Rae replied. "Then do it," Skye encouraged. "I just need time," Rae insisted. "Why don't I pick you up so we can get some food?" Skye asked. "Sure," Rae agreed. "I will be right back," Skye said and left.
