Finding You Part 8, Chapter 50 — At General Hospital — Skye, Alan, Monica, Skylar, Lila Rae, and Luis were there when Rae and John entered. "Mother," Skye said. "Skye," Rae responded. "Don't be mad at me for calling John," Skye added. "I'm not. Thank you, Skye. That was what I needed, and I've decided to get the double mastectomy," Rae said. "Good. Mother, I know you will make it. I love you," Skye said, hugging her mother. "I love you too, and my grandbabies," Rae replied. "Genevieve wishes she could be here, but she has a big exam this week. She loves you," Skye said. "I love her too. Skye, can we talk before my surgery?" Rae asked. "Sure," Skye replied. Rae took Skye's hand, and they went to talk privately. "Skye, I can't believe I'm saying this, but stop playing games and pick the man you love. I know it's Lorenzo. I just want you happy, and if I don't make it, I want to know before I die that you will be fine," Rae said. "Oh, Mother, no matter what happens, I will be fine. You're going to make it. I promise not to fall apart," Skye assured her. "Promise?" Rae asked. "Promise," Skye confirmed. "Alright. But I know in your heart that it's Lorenzo you love. It doesn't make you a bad mother if you pick him. You're a good mother, Skye," Rae said. "Thanks, Mother," Skye replied. They shared a hug as Dr. Kelly approached. "Rae, it's time to get ready," Dr. Kelly said, taking Rae away. Skye cried as Lorenzo approached. "Lorenzo, why are you here?" Skye asked. "Lila Rae called me," Lorenzo replied. "Rae is going to make it," Skye said. "Yes, she is," Lorenzo agreed. "Before Mother went into surgery, Rae told me to pick the man I love, and she will be happy," Skye explained. "Who is that?" Lorenzo asked. "It's you. It's always been you," Skye responded, and they shared a kiss. "Skye, are you sure? You're emotionally raw right now," Lorenzo asked. "Yes, I'm sure. You go talk to Ric," Skye said. "Now?" Lorenzo asked. "Yes, Mother will be a while," Skye replied and left. "So, you and Rae used to date?" Monica inquired. "Yes, we did," John answered. "Do you still love her?" Monica asked. "Yes," John said. "Then fight for her," Monica encouraged. "You're right. Life is short," John agreed. "You're right, it is," Monica replied. At Ric's — The lakehouse — Ric was home when Skye arrived. "Skye, is everything okay?" Ric asked. "Not really. My mother is in surgery right now having a double mastectomy, and I realize that life is short. I will surely be with the man I love. I'm sorry, Ric, it's not you. I love Lorenzo. I thought I didn't love him anymore because of what he did to our children, but I can't stop loving him. I'm sorry. I will always care for you, and I wish you nothing but the best," Skye said, kissing him on the cheek. "You've made a mistake by picking Lorenzo. He's going to hurt you again," Ric warned. "You're not perfect either, and it's not me you want. You still love Elizabeth, maybe you always will. Go tell her," Skye suggested. "You're right, I do still love Elizabeth," Ric admitted. "Can we still be friends?" Skye asked. "Yes," Ric agreed. "Thank you," Skye said. "I do hope Rae makes it," Ric added. "Thanks, me too," Skye replied.
