Finding You, Part 8, Chapter 56 — At New Haven, a restaurant — Skye, Lorenzo, and Genevieve were there. "This is a nice place. Have you been here before?" Skye asked. "No," Genevieve said. "Do you ever go out?" Skye asked. "Yes, Mother. On the weekends, I volunteer at a soup kitchen, and on Monday, I work at a women's clinic," Genevieve said. "That's nice of you, but you need some fun. What about parties here? Or do you have friends?" Skye asked. "No, Mother. The kids here aren't as smart as I am," Genevieve said. "Oh, Genevieve," Skye replied. "I'm fine, Mother," Genevieve said. "Your mother just wants you to enjoy school too," Lorenzo added. "I don't need to go to parties; I have no use for the kids here," Genevieve said. "You always put pressure on yourself," Skye said. "Yes, you do. Your mother and I are sorry we hardly say it, but we're proud of you," Lorenzo said. "Yes, we are," Skye agreed. "Thank you. Do you know when Skylar is having her wedding?" Genevieve asked. "No, but Skylar has been trying to call you," Skye replied. "I know, I've just been busy. Our food should be here soon," Genevieve said. "It will be just relaxed," Skye assured. "So, Daddy, did you leave the mob for good?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, I have. The club is a hit, by the way," Lorenzo replied. "Yeah, I'm sure," Genevieve said. "Are you okay with us getting back together?" Skye asked. "Whatever," Genevieve said as the food arrived. "Genevieve, I—" Skye started. "I'm happy about this, and I want your support. That's what a family does," Skye said. "It doesn't matter. It's not like you will listen to me anyway," Genevieve replied. "You're right. It's our life, not yours," Lorenzo said as the waitress approached. "Are you Genevieve Alcazar?" the waitress asked. "Yes," Genevieve responded. "This is for you," the waitress said, handing her an envelope. Genevieve read the note. "Open this, then go to Main Street to a store that was featured in your favorite movie," it said. Genevieve opened it to find a muffin. "My favorite movie. I wonder what this is about," Genevieve thought aloud. "I think it's from Alexander," Skye said. "He's been sending me the most romantic gifts. The last one was 12 stuffed teddy bears, just like the ones he won for me at the fair when we were little," Genevieve explained. "Wow. What did you do with all of them?" Skye asked. "I donated them to a children's hospital. Let's go," Genevieve said, and they left.
