Finding You Part 8, Chapter 22~"Like Father, Like Daughter"
At the Italian restaurant, Lorenzo and Genevieve entered. Lorenzo helped Genevieve with her chair before sitting down. "So, how is school?" Lorenzo asked. "Great," Genevieve replied. "Genevieve, I know you don't want to be here with me, but you should just try," Lorenzo said as the waitress came by, and they ordered drinks before she left. "Be honest with me, Daddy. You didn't leave the mob, did you? It's just an act to win Mother back?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, I did. Tomorrow night is my club opening, and I hope you come," Lorenzo said. "I want proof," Genevieve said. "I'm sure you do. You're a lot like me," Lorenzo replied. "I'm nothing like you! I wish everyone would stop saying that," Genevieve said as she stood up. "Sit down," Lorenzo urged. "No! I'm done," Genevieve responded as bodyguards approached. "Sir, is everything okay?" the man asked. "If you're not in the mob anymore, then why do you still have guards?" Genevieve inquired. "For safety. Now sit down!" Lorenzo yelled. "I'm not a little girl—you can't order me around!" Genevieve retorted. "Then act like an adult and sit down, and listen to me," Lorenzo shouted. Genevieve sat down, visibly upset. "You are a lot like me, Princess. You're stubborn, don't trust anyone, and you want proof before you believe anything. I've left the mob. I want to be a better father for you and your brother and sisters. I hate that my choices have hurt all of you. I do love you, Genevieve, and I know you love me," Lorenzo admitted. "I do. I just hate your life choices, and I do believe that Mother is better off without you," Genevieve said. "Ric isn't perfect either," Lorenzo replied. "Ric won't get Mother shot or anything. He will keep her safe. If you love all of us, you will just stay away," Genevieve said as their food arrived. "I'm not going anywhere. You can keep pushing me away, but I'm not leaving," Lorenzo declared. "You're just happy that Lila Rae and Skylar have forgiven you. But if you ever did something like that to me, I would never let it go. I would prosecute and send you to jail without any doubts," Genevieve stated. "Genevieve, I was hoping to fix things between us, but I guess not," Lorenzo said. "It's fine with me," Genevieve responded. "Well, I guess I can take you home," Lorenzo offered. "I can go home myself," Genevieve replied. "You've always been the independent one, but even the independent need help sometimes. I know you want to fix things between us, but now it's up to you. I'm done," Lorenzo said. Genevieve got up, and they left.
