Finding You Part 8 Chapter 58~
At New Haven—The next morning—in Genevieve's bedroom, Genevieve and Alexander were standing up, and Genevieve was fixing Alexander's tie. "You know, yesterday when I walked into Tiffany's and I saw you there, I thought you were going to propose to me," Genevieve said. "I'm sorry I didn't, but I think we need to focus on our careers right now," Alexander said. "I agree," Genevieve replied. "Good. I have to make a phone call," Alexander said. "Alright, I will make us some breakfast," Genevieve offered. "Alright," Alexander agreed. Genevieve left.
Genevieve went into the kitchen, opened the freezer, pulled out some frozen French toast, and put it in the toaster as Skye entered. "What are you doing?" Skye asked. "Making breakfast for Alexander," Genevieve answered. "Really?" Skye inquired. "Yes, frozen French toast. Do you want some?" Genevieve asked. "No, I'm not eating that. So, did you like what Alexander did last night?" Skye asked. "Yes, I did. It was perfect," Genevieve replied. She picked up the file the professor gave her to examine. "What is that?" Skye asked. "A case the professor wants me to look at. It's a sad case, and he can't afford to lose this one," Genevieve explained as Lorenzo entered.
"Good morning, is there coffee?" Lorenzo asked. "No, I haven't made it yet," Genevieve replied as she looked at the picture in the case file. "I'm making some," Lorenzo said. "So, what's this case about that you're helping with?" Skye asked. "This man is on trial for murder and the rape of a seven-year-old," Genevieve said. "That's sad," Skye responded. "Yes, it is," Lorenzo agreed. "He did it too. He raped her at least six times before he killed her with a knife in the heart," Genevieve said as she looked at the picture. "Oh my God," Genevieve exclaimed. "What?" Skye asked. "I just saw something in this picture I'm sure the professor didn't notice," Genevieve said, then she picked up a marker and circled a ring.
"There's no way he's getting out of this," Genevieve said as Alexander entered. "Did you make coffee?" Alexander asked. "I did," Lorenzo confirmed. "Good," Alexander replied. "What?" Genevieve asked. "Nothing, darling. Are you okay?" Alexander inquired. "Yes, this case I'm working on for school is sad, but I can handle it. I made you some French toast," Genevieve said. "You did?" Alexander asked as she pulled some out of the toaster. "Genevieve, I love you, but I'm not eating frozen food," Alexander stated. "Oh, Alexander, they're good," Genevieve replied, eating some herself. "Oh, Genevieve, do you have anything else?" Alexander asked. "I brought some fresh fruit, eggs, and yogurt," Skye said. "Thanks. Genevieve, you can't always eat junk food," Alexander advised. "That's what I told her," Skye added. Genevieve just rolled her eyes as there was a knock on the door—it was the professor.
"Genevieve, have you looked over the case?" the professor asked. "Yes. See this picture? There's a ring right by her body, and in his mugshot, he was wearing the same ring," Genevieve replied. "Oh, I must have missed that. So, he went back after he killed her and took the ring with him, along with the fact that he killed another girl before she? That's great job, Genevieve. I'm sure you're going to pass your test today," the professor said. "Thank you. I hope so," Genevieve replied. "Your daughter is going to make a great lawyer, better than me," the professor said before leaving.
"That's great, Genevieve, that you helped get him off the street, but are you sure you can do this?" Alexander asked. "Yes, I can. It feels good to get a crime like that off the street," Genevieve responded. "Yes," Alexander agreed. "After your test, we should go to a museum or something," Skye suggested. "Alright," Genevieve agreed. "So, when is Skylar's wedding?" Alexander asked. "I haven't called her back yet," Genevieve responded. "Genevieve, you're going to pass. You always stress over a test, and then you pass," Alexander encouraged. "Not all, remember the math test," Genevieve added. "Oh, yeah," Alexander said. "Yes, when you both were cheating," Lorenzo joked. "It was my idea. Anyway, I need to go," Genevieve said. "Genevieve, you will be fine," Lorenzo reassured. "Thanks, Daddy," Genevieve smiled. "Yes, you will. After you pass, we will have a nice dinner," Skye added. "Alright," Genevieve said, leaving.
