Finding You Part 8, Chapter 16~
At the Quartermaine Hotel, Skye, Genevieve, and Alexander's table—Lorenzo approached.
"What do you want?" Genevieve asked.
"I want to have dinner with you, Genevieve, before you leave town. We need to work things out," Lorenzo said as Genevieve stood up.
"No, we don't. Besides, I have plans with Alexander tonight," Genevieve replied while adjusting her wrap as Alexander's phone rang.
"I have to take this," Alexander said and stepped away.
"Genevieve, life is short. You need to work things out," Skye advised.
"Mother, I came to town for you, not him," Genevieve responded.
"Him! I'm your father!" Lorenzo yelled.
"Don't remind me," Genevieve muttered as Alexander approached.
"Genevieve, I'm sorry, but I have a meeting until eight," Alexander said.
"Alexander," Genevieve called.
"Genevieve, how about I pick you up at your mother's house at eight, and we can spend some time together?" Alexander asked. Genevieve didn't respond.
Alexander touched her arm gently.
"Don't be mad at me. We both have our jobs," Alexander said.
"Well, then I guess we can have dinner," Lorenzo said.
"Fine," Genevieve agreed.
"Great, I'll pick you up at five," Lorenzo added.
"Perfect, I can't wait," Genevieve replied, though she didn't want to go to dinner with Lorenzo at all.
"Thank you," Lorenzo said and then left.
"Genevieve, I have to go," Alexander said, kissed her on the cheek, and left.
"Genevieve, I'm glad you're going out to dinner with your father. You both need to work it out," Skye said.
"Yeah, I guess so. So, are you and Ric serious?" Genevieve asked.
"We're just taking it slow," Skye answered.
"I'm glad he makes you happy," Genevieve said.
"Thank you. Are you upset with Alexander?" Skye asked.
"I just want some time with him. I wanted to spend time earlier, but he wanted to eat instead," Genevieve explained.
"Well, it is the middle of the day," Skye noted.
"Oh, as if you've never done it in the middle of the day," Genevieve teased.
"Anyway, I need to go to the office," Skye said.
"Sure," Genevieve replied.
Skye left.
At Alexis' place—Alexis was having tea when there was a knock at the door. She opened it to find Ric.
"Ric, come in," Alexis invited.
"I just want to let you know that you can trust me," Ric said.
"I hope so," Alexis replied.
"You can. For Molly, I will help you," Ric assured her.
"Thanks," Alexis said as they shared a hug.
"Do you need anything?" Ric asked.
"You're doing enough for me, and I will never forget it," Alexis replied.
"Anytime," Ric responded.
