Finding You Part 8, Chapter 55 — At New Haven — Genevieve's House — Genevieve was sitting on the couch studying for a test, eating a cookie in her hand. She went to look for a piece of paper and didn't realize that some cookies got into her hair as the doorbell rang. "Who could that be?" Genevieve asked herself and got up to open it. Princess started to bark. "Princess, stop. It's okay," Genevieve said. She picked up the dog and opened the door to find Skye and Lorenzo there. "Mother, Daddy," you're early," Genevieve said. "We want to surprise you," Lorenzo said. "Yes, looks like you've been eating junk food and studying," Skye added as they came in. "Yes, I have a big test. I have tests all week. I wish you had waited," Genevieve said. "I realize that life is short," Skye said, touching Genevieve's hair. "You have a cookie in your hair," Skye said, taking it out. "Thanks, Mother. How is Grandmother?" Genevieve asked. "Good. Your grandmother made it out okay," Skye replied. "Good," Genevieve said. "Why don't you go clean up, and we can go to dinner?" Lorenzo suggested. "I can't," Genevieve said. "Genevieve, you need a break. I'm sure you're going to pass. You always put pressure on yourself," Skye said. "I have a lot to do," Genevieve responded. "Genevieve," Lorenzo said. "Fine, but I can't be long. So, are you back together?" Genevieve asked. "Yes," Skye replied. "Genevieve, it's my choice," Skye added. "Whatever, Mother," Genevieve said. "I'm sure you miss Alexander," Skye asked. "No, I don't. I'm going to shower. There's some tea bags in the kitchen," Genevieve said, then left.
Lorenzo, I don't know about this," Skye said as they walked into the kitchen. Skye opened the refrigerator and saw Diet Pop and all the junk food. "Oh, Genevieve," Skye exclaimed. "Let's go put our bags in a room," Lorenzo said. "Yes, I will show you the guest room," Skye replied. They left.
In Genevieve's room, Genevieve put on her earrings and fixed her hair as she looked in the mirror. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Genevieve went to open it and found one of the professors. "Professor, what can I do for you?" Genevieve asked. "I need your help. There's a big case I have, and I need you to look over the notes. Can I come in?" the professor asked. "Yes," Genevieve replied, and he came in. "So, what do you need me to do?" Genevieve asked. "Just look over the case for me. I know you will make a great lawyer. You're beautiful too," the professor said, touching her. Genevieve quickly removed his hand. "Do you remember when I told you that my father is in the mob? Well, he also showed me how to use a gun, which I have in my bedroom," Genevieve explained, as Lorenzo and Skye entered. "Is everything okay?" Lorenzo asked. "Yes, Daddy, it's fine. Right, Professor?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, just look over the notes for me," the professor affirmed. "I will," Genevieve said. "I will let myself out. You both have a great daughter. She's going to be a great lawyer," the professor said and left. "Genevieve, are you okay? We heard him hitting on you," Skye asked. "Yes, it's fine. When I told him about the gun, it scared him. I do know how to handle professors," Genevieve replied. "Do you have a gun here?" Lorenzo asked. "Yes," Genevieve answered. "Good. After dinner, I'm taking you shopping for health food," Skye declared. "Oh, Mother," Genevieve groaned. "I'm glad I showed you how to use it," Lorenzo added. "Yeah," Genevieve said, and they left.
